Agreed. I thought analog B&O speakers were always "well tuned" and the new DSP models can be magical. It is what B&O does well. Oh yeah, include the A9 in the magical column, in my humble opinion. Crack one open on your next podcast and we will DSP a toast while I watch it. Good stuff, btw.
i've just gone from 5x BL5's (with BL17s in the rear) and an Avant up front, to 2x BL50's in the front.
WOW!!
I was scepticle that the existing footprint could be bettered - until these puppies came online!
The depth, clarity and bass of these things absolutely make the BL5's look like JML bluetooth speakers!
(Ok, not that bad but the improvement is exponential!)

You have the Beolab 50´s. I am into putting an order to these speakers. I have today Beolab 5 from 2015.
Are You happy with yours? i saw in another thread that you maybe have some problems with your speakers. Can You please tell me what problems you have and what I might expect if I buy these speakers.

I am thinking now to put an order for Beolab 50. I got a very good trade in for my labs5.
An important question for you:
Do you still have ticking sounds and software issues with your Lab50?
have the latest software upgrade solved all issues with lab50?
does the speaker still miss a lot of funktions as is described in the technical soundguide?
Can You say that the speakers work functionally as good as Beolab 5 which works 100 % perfect.

just to interject... I have 50’s and have had problems. Connection is a huge issue. I would suggest put it in the hands of the dealer. I am sure I have lost 5 years off my life dealing with this issue myself!!! But we are there now and I have to admit that I adore these speakers. Forget 5’s, they cannot compare. 50’s are in a different league. They are so musicable and turn every bad recording into something listenable. Where are you? I am close to the Capital if you want to spend time with these babies you are welcome?

Razlaw:I will interject also.....thank so much for your comments. I have a demonstration of the 50s scheduled for the middle of the month. I am considering them to replace my 20s. Also have demoed 5s in my house for several weeks. I like hearing any comparisons of the 50s to 5s and any opinions on the 50s.

Do You still have connection-problem between Slave and Masterspeaker regarding your Beolab 50´s? Have you got changed your speakers to new ones?
I got my first pair of Beolab 50 in May this year and had a lot of problems were the slave and master lost connection from time to time.
I got a new pair of 50´s a couple of weeks ago and have had one time when a connection failure occured but other than that they seems to work well.

All the issues I experienced were getting the speakers to accept and lock on to my internet connection. It took 2 weeks of all the hours in the day plus advice from my dealer, the internet provider, friends and B&O directly. Eventually, Hey presto, they connected! By just repeating the procedure I had been following all along!
Since then, they have never lost connection, not once. The master and slave talk to each other with no issues. No strange poppings either. So I guess I may have been lucky? Although to use an adjective like "lucky" not to have problems with €30,000 speakers surely raises anyone's eyebrows?
I hope yours are equally trouble free in use.

It looks like there has been a price increase for the Beolab 50. At least here in germany. (approx 5%)
No change (yet) on the US website...
