Can I connect my B&O Beomaster 5500 to a Toshiba laptop?  As I would like to convert vinyl records to CD's

They do have the huge advantage of having not only DIN connectors but also a full complement of RCA plugs.
This actually makes them ideal for present day use as the extra connections allow computer and digital music connections in addition to usual sources.

Hi Herontye,

Welcome to Beoworld!

Yes, you can use the DIN or RCA Tape Out sockets to record from your vinyl records to your laptop.  It is often a good idea to add an external USB sound card like this one to improve on the standard 3.5mm microphone input fitted to most laptops:-

I can include a free 1m twin RCA connecting cable with this on request - please mention that you are a Beoworld member and I will be pleased to add this for you.

I use the free Audacity recording software for digitising vinyl records (available online for download), this has a good choice of filter options to help clean up bad recordings.

Kind regards, Steve.

Steve.
