Just called a dealer to ask about the BV11 and he mentioned the BV7-40 will be discontinued, while the BV7-55 will remain. Too bad as I really find the BV7-40 perfect, except was waiting to see it would be updated with the smart functionality.

I have yet to see the BV11 live, but any comments as to how the PQ compares with the 7-40? Sound wise I was looking to connect to BL-1s so y assumption that a BV11 would be the same as a BV7-40 under this configuration for sound?

BV11-55, BS9000, BL1, BL19, Transmitter 1, Beo4, Beocom 6000, BeoTalk1 200, Sennheiser HD600, McIntosh MHA100

That the BV 7 (not yet the -55) soon will be discontinued is nothing new.

"A replacement" based on the new videoengine is expected for spring 2013.

No details out yet - but will probably be an evolution on the outside (maybe a bit more than just an evolution), and a revolution on the inside - as ceo Tue Mantoni described the BV11.

Greetings Millemissen

There is a tv - and there is a BV

I honestly can't see BV7-40 leaving the range in 2013, its a fantastic TV still selling very well. But then again 12 months ago I was predicting the BV10 would be around for a very long time! (Which it kinda is!)

I love the BeoVision 7 range, it would be great to see a Mk7.

I had the opportunity to compare BV 7-40 with BV 11-40 yesterday.

Soundwise the BV 7 with its outstanding BL 7 is still another league than the speaker of BV 11.

The picture quality of BV 7 is also better than BV 11, although only a little bit. I don't know this is because of a better Samsung panel or the better video engine (BS 3).

But I'm sure the BV 7 will be updated next year to provide us the smart TV options and the internal harddisk. The concept of BV 7 will not be discontinued. If it will be called BV 7 Mk 7 or BV 14 Mk 1 is another question. But I hope there will be still the option of the internal Bluray player and I'm sure there will be no more masterlink anymore.

Regards

Thanks for the feedback...I  saw the bv10 earlier this year and was not impressed with the sound nor the picture quality compared to the 7-40...I was hoping for some tremendous improvement with the BV11. So I guess this becomes a question of waiting to see any innovation on the bv7, and determining whether the BV11 is good enough (at almost half the price)...
