Curly: 100% agree. I pretty much always have my phone or tablet nearby if I am home, so I wouldn’t see the need for more (expensive) STUFF to clutter my home, even if it is as beautiful as the Halo. But some people feel otherwise and that’s great. It’s exciting that well-designed, new products continue to be released.

100% agree. And if you are a Mac user, you can even use this very clever code, already discussed on this forum, and for which I suggested several features that the developper kindly integrated.
I'm using it every day while on my Mac, I can control ALL my speakers, play/pause, change the volume, select sources including joining/leaving multiroom experiences, move backward/forward tracks and radio, i really recommend it for Mac users.

You're right - just did that instead.....
.........leaving space for news about the Halo
Hello you all
I played with the remote yesterday at my dealer and it looks so very good in the flesh.
Yes it is limited now as i can see in operations so i will wait until the update will come.I hear that will be december or so.
That,s good so i can pay it without any pain in december and lay it under the "green tree"
I had the chance to play with the Halo too. Software was in beta still, but the basic functionality to control all your speakers (volume, source, all standby) are all there. Think of it as the BeoSound 35 screen but better looking, high res, larger and with much more functionality. Screen displays current volume and source metadata. Volume ring is really working beautifully.
Wall and Table are different products unlike the Essence. Qi-charging works very good, I can imagine this is going to be an perfect desk item for a CEO desk etc.

Present: BL90, Core, BL6000, CD7000, Beogram 7000, Essence Remote.
Past: BL1, BL2, BL8000, BS9000, BL5, BC2, BS5, BV5, BV4-50, Beosystem 3, BL3, DVD1, Beoremote 4, Moment.
I assume Halo's ability to control "all your speakers" actually means "all multiroom speakers and those connected to Core", right? Could you at least share your assumption if it might be able to control speakers connected to Moment wirelessly/WISA? Thanks! :)
seethroughyou: 1990: I can imagine this is going to be an perfect desk item for a CEO desk etc.... Certainly priced at CEO levels. Hopefully, it’ll deliver on the remaining functionality. Cautious guarded optimism.

The "CEO desk" comments bring to mind the Sex and the City episode where a CEO had three Beocom 6000 phones on their brushed aluminum chargers on his desk. TOTALLY impractical considering other multi-line phone systems. Yet, amazing in style.

seethroughyou:Let us hope that B&O will break the recent cycle of producing beautiful but impractical remotes that only do so much and don’t go far enough.
It’s funny - this remote seems to work in the BeoLink/NL realm.
And now we had almost gotten used to AP2 and CC for main multiroom (with our B&O devices).......even the latest audio device - the Balance - does not support NL.

Agree on all but getting used to CC! Although I appreciate the benefits of not having a device to keep up for audio streaming, the user experience with CC when times comes to add/remove speakers or act on a group's speaker without impacting others is horrible ! AP2 combined with NL Multiroom is more than acceptable, NL only is perfect for me.
I do use CC and AP occasionally - but basicly I am an NL-guy too.
But I do need a big/bigger display for interacting......which must include my music service somehow.
I wonder how one should browse Deezer on that remote?
Launch will be soon - so we might know more by then.

Jérôme, you stated it perfectly. On occasion, I like the usefulness of using my voice to select music on a Google Home Mini to play through a B&O speaker set as the default speaker to use for music with the Google Home Mini. However, the dropouts are terrible. When I saw the photo showing a MIC button on the Halo, I became hopeful that there could be a voice control solution for NL. It's unfortunate that the current final product of the Halo won't include a microphone.
Razlaw:My dealer is getting his stock in on Wednesday and will be shipping me my table version and charger then.

Not convinced it is a win for me. I love my Beosound Moments, but their interface is much more rich.
I suppose a unit in the kitchen would provide a middle ground between the Essence remote currently there and adding another Moment.

How would you browse on that tiny display?
I've said it before - the Halo seems to be an advanced playlist-starter/-stopper/-controller with a nice volume wheel.....which will be fine for many users.
After all that has been the strategy of B&O for ages:
On the BS9000 it was the RANDOM function of the 6 CD's.
On the BS5 it was MOTS and playlists via the 4 coloured buttons (not much searching possible there with scrolling through characters one by one).
It got somehow better (read: different) with the BS Moment - that sadly was not further pursued by B&O for multiple reasons, indeed.
With its main features PatternPlay and Moodwheel that wasn't real browsing either.
I see no reason for hoping that you should be able to browse (a music service or your NAS) properly on the Halo display.
And maybe that is not what most people will expect from it - just a few of us.
Most people just want nice room-/house-filling music at their fingertips.
It must be the worst launch ever, just recieved a newsletter about the HALO from my dealer,
It is a big joke...
Hopefully the device is nice though :)

Today a took a glimpse at the Halo In my dealer's shop. The Halo is small enough for the table. My dealer was just installing it in the WiFi network. The outside ring can be physically turned to adjust volume. That reminds me to my BeoSound 5. On the display you can see the equivalent to the lower half of a the B&O app. The price tag is 750 €.
Had a look at in the store today, unfortunately no support for Beosystem 4, so no BV 11 or Beoplay V1 support.

I'm seeing it tomorrow (had an appointment anyway, just by chance).
But as my dealer suggested to me a while ago, the Halo will lily have a fairly limited function set on launch.
Its not for me anyway to be honest, however nice it looks.
As a Roon user, this will offer little beyond volume control and radio station starting.
