Hi,

This is my first post in this forum. I hope someone might be able to help me.😊

I’ve got a pair of great beolab penta mk3. The sound is awesome! Only issue i have is that there is a loud ”bang” whenever i change the source input and when i power off.

Anyone have the same problem and what might be done? Recaping?

thanks for you help!

Mike

Problem solved!

After a full recap and changing the TR 23,28 on the main board and still having the penta pop i focused on the inputboard and transformer.

i Changed the 10000uf caps on the tranformer, not sure this was needed but did it anyway.. Then i changed the IC1 and IC2 on the inputboard (PCB 22) after putting everything together the” pop” was gone! My best guess is that the issue was a faulty IC on the PCB 22.

Hope this might help someone with the same problem!

/Mike
