Hi All,

Looking for the best way to connect a Beogram 8002 to a Mk2 Essence by way of a reasonable phono stage.

Any ideas. Bluetooth or simple RCA?

Thanks

I RCA connected a BG4002 to my BS Moment. The Moment starts when the needle "hits" the record.

Simple, straith forward and reliable.

Picking up horrible distortion

BG8002 >> Hyperwire MD001 >> Essence mk2

Connections good, needle ok, thinking there’s not enough signal uplift on the RIAA.

im not an expert in this type of arrangement

Mr 10Percent:
BG8002 >> Hyperwire MD001 >> Essence mk2
I'm using

BG4002 original DIN >> DIN to RCA from Sounds Heavenly >> Oehlbach Phono Preamp Pro >> RCA-RCA cable >> Moment

no distortion at all

So how are your cables / connectors? Did/can you test the preamp with another recordplayer or mike?

As Carolpa explained, you need a preamp (riaa) from Beogram 8002 to the Essence.
(The audio signal from a Turntable is to weak for a Beomaster etc)
(later BeoGrams, like BG6500, have premp/riaa built in)

The quality on preamps differ, see audio tests and on internet. To get the best is for you to decide.

See for cables and pre amp also here:
https://soundsheavenly.com/search?controller=search&s=8002

For other readers here who want the 7 PIN DIN remote control Datalink and riaa/preamp see here:
