Working on a BeoGram 1500, I just found out that the distance between the needle tip and the vinyl, is about 2 mm. With the current record I am playing, that's fine. But if a have another (wobbly) record, it will touch the groove when it shouldn't.

So I am looking for:

  1. The proper distance between needle tip and record; how much should that be?
  2. How to adjust the tone arm/arm lift to the right height?

Ad 2. For the tone arm itself I have seen that on the pivot point, it has a nut on the bottom side. For the arm lift I am not sure if I can change the height. So should I adjust the height of both the tone arm and the arm rest? How should I do that?
