Hi,

In a multi room experience I have noticed that there is now a network delay when starting from the B&O app

I have never had a network delay issue and haven’t changed my settings when starting something in one room and then joining in another

Now when i start playing something on the BS1 in the kitchen and extend the experience to the A9 in the dining room there is a good couple of seconds delay

I have also tested starting the BS1 in the app and tap the A9 = the same

However, if i physically tap to start the BS1 and physically tap to join the A9 there is no network delay

I tried playing around with the network delay to test and the settings are as they always are

Both speakers are wi-fi

It only started a week ago.

has anyone also noticed this?

On the app, deezer is signed in, tune In is signed in

Thanks.

For my understanding, is the delay related to sound synchronisation or is it related to the time it takes for another product to join?

BS Moment, BS Core, BG 4002, BC 4500, BS1, BL18, BL19, BL8000 + RCV1, A6, M5, M3, A1, P6 (tks Botty), H5, TR1

I know it sounds weird but try to unplug every BO multiroom product from mains, wait 60 seconds then plug them all back.

I noticed the same issue with my BeoSound Core. When it happens, the music starts with a “fade-in” effect for the first 3 seconds.

If I play a 24/192 flac over local DLNA, the delay is even bigger, around 5-7 seconds.

Neither rebooting the BS Core, the router or DLNA server works to solve the delay.

Only unplugging the Core from the mains solves the issue for me.

In my case, I think the delay happens after I (rarely) change the Bass/Treble sliders in the BO App.

Cheers!

Glad to read this, I noticed this behavior too following the latest Core software update, and I like it to be honest. Another new hidden feature.

I raised it in this forum but had nobody confirming.

Thanks for your replies

It’s related to the sound synchronisation

And I’ll try the reboot. I did take the BS1 out of the power lead it’s always plugged in and waited for it to die (which doesn’t take long) but haven’t tried the a9.

I missed your forum post about this. Indeed, I first noticed the problem a few months ago, coinciding with the last Core software update.

I don't think it's a hidden feature :). Most probably a bug.

A nice bug then IMHO as often volume levels are not the same across sources, fade in when changing a source makes the transition smoother.

This is something I would like on other products, as an option for example, particularly on my BS1 which wakes me up every morning with a radio channel, fade-in would make a smoother awakening !

What value do you currently have for WiFi delay?

I had similar issues, smaller sync delay though, between my M3 and my Moment and the only way I managed to recover temporarily was to change the WiFi delay to force resync between products.

Do you have a WiFi mesh network?

Hi

wifi msec 200, which is what it has been in the past when working in sync and now when not in sync.

I also tried changing this to 50 and 30 and that didn't help, it remains out of sync

wired is 50 msec, but there is no wired products, only the avant and BV14

Have you tried values >= to 1000 ms?

Ok. It’s working now.

I think the solution of turning off the A9 for 60 seconds worked.

I now have 200 wired and 200 wireless and that works too.

Thanks everyone.

It’s like the old trick when you call the help desk : restart your PC. Big Smile

LOL. Old tricks never get old :).

Glad I’m not the only one with this problem and the solution works for you too.

It’s probably a bug in the BO App combined with recent products firmwares.
