Would like to control my Apple TV 4K with the Beo4 remote.

Descripton of setup:

The IR blaster is connected to the AV1 Control port of the Beosystem 3 (AV receiver) and the Apple TV 4K is connected to the Beosystem 3 via a HDMI cable and is properly set to link to the AV1 connection as well via the menu settings. I cannot control the Beo4 remote with the Apple TV, the joystick on the Beo4 remote doesn't respond and I cannot turn it on or off. I have programmed the AV1 connection using the pre-existing, built-in Beosys3 PUC codes for "Apple Remote" (but I'm not sure it is compatible with the latest version of the Apple TV 4K).

Would anyone be able to suggest troubleshooting tips or suggest a resolution?

Would be nice to control audio and  video with 1 universal remote instead of two :-) I'm hoping I do not have to send this to a far-away dealer as many of them no longer service software upgrades or install PUC codes to beosystem 3 units in my state. I do see an option to program 'Add' AppleTV function to to the Beo4 remote by hitting List and the Red button on the bottom right of the remote...

Did my last post in your previous thread not help you?

I know it can be tricky to find the right place for the ir-blaster on the front of the ATV. - but it can be done.

Does the remote (with the joystick navigation) work on the system in general?

Have you tried using the arrows (right/left, up/down) for the navigation in the menu of the ATV?

P.S. I am not sure what you mean with:I do see an option to program 'Add' AppleTV function to to the Beo4 remote by hitting List and the Red button on the bottom right of the remote...’?

Usually the only (coloured) button with a function for the ATV is the green one (this leads you to the main overview of the apps on the device).

There is a tv - and there is a BV

Hey MM!! Your last post was super helpful and everything you noted helped me get it setup :-) Just controlling the ATV w/ Beo4 has continued to elude me and is the only thing left outstanding. I checked the forum thread you mentioned as well relevant to beosys3 software versions to no avail and I did attempt every detail and option of your previous suggestions if I recall correctly.

I have also repositioned the IR blaster every which way on the ATV and on the LG TV directly. Keep in mind the ATV is connected to the HDMI A port on the Beosys 3 and the IR blaster via the CTRL port of the AV1 area on the Beosys3 and the AV1 connection is programmed correctly in the Menu settings of the Beosys 3 to source from the HDMI A port. My beo4 does work with the Beosystem 3 in general, I am able to pull up the menu, change format, speaker and many other functions.

The ATV is located behind my TV console (a long piece furniture) so it is hidden from sight but the ATV remote has no trouble power it all on and navigating even though its located behind the TV console.

What i meant by the red button is the standby button (red dot) on the bottom-right of the Beo4 remote. When I hold this button and List down at the sametime I am able to add ‘AppleTV’ as an AV function to the Beo4 remote and I see ‘AppleTV’ in text on the top of the Beo4 LCD screen… of course, any other suggestions for further tinkering most welcome!
