My beloved BV7-40 Mk 2 is still going strong, even though relegated to a secondary room after getting an Eclipse.

Now that I enjoy 4k and Bluray on the Eclipse, I wonder if it is possible to upgrade my DVD player on the 7-40 to a Bluray, perhaps taking advantage of older models to collect parts cheaply. I'm ok to to do work myself and I have some technical manuals as well.

What I need to know is - is it possible, and if so what parts/model numbers etc I should look for. Thank you

BV6-26, BV7-40, BL7.4, BL3, BL5, BS9000, BC1, ES1, Beo4, BeoPort

Although a very old thread, the first post here suggests that only Mk3 and after can be upgraded: https://archivedarchivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/25266.aspx

A stand alone Blu ray player may be a better option.

Yes MKII does not have HDMI only DVI whereas the BR will take one HDMI port from the MKIII
