Quick question. Thought I would find it easily on this forum, nut no.

Can I access the music files on a BeoMaster 5 via an Apple TV, which is on the same network?

As far as I know the ATV (if in original condition) always needs iTunes and so it should work if you have iTunes running on you BM5.

Hi, did you try to install iTunes on the Beomaster5? If so, how did it work?

No yet. Will do this weekend.

Was also waiting for potential feedback from other forum members in case they had tried it.

Keep you posted.

Confirm that it works. By installing iTunes on the BM5 its possible to access its media files from an Apple TV.

The only little issue is that if you reboot the BM5, you'll have to relaunch iTunes via the Service Menu. Wondering if there is a way iTunes starts automatically upon reboot.

Yes, there is. You can add a record to the registry to launch an Application at start-up. I have done that for the Beosound5.exe and B&O has done this also with the temp monitor software.

The key should be added under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

You can google for examples or look at the tempmon that B&O has set up. Let me know if you run into problems.
