Thanx for the explanation.
mine is loading correctly. But the spindle motor isn’t turning the disc.
only if there is no disc (simulated by faking the disc checking diode, the motor turns)
So I think my problem is after the brass nut and clamping part of the process
best regards 69er
Has the disc been clamped correctly by the hub? Will the disc spin by hand when loaded (CD50 unpowered) or is it scraping on the tray?
Martin
Hi Martin,
i can turn the disc by hand (cd50 out). It’s not scratching. But it’s not like in other CD players, that it goes easy.
i can’t give it a kick and it’s turning.
just wen I turn the motor by hand, than I can turn the disc step by step
best regards

Hi - I'm new to this and wanted to thank Martin for the new belts and the whole thread for the helpful advice.
I have a CD-50 that I can't get to work reliably. It will play any track perfectly for 1-4 minutes, but then the laser will jump to a new section, play for 5 seconds, then jump again, play 5 seconds, and the whole time the counter is running like crazy. If I shut it off and back on, it will continue, but if I unplug it and start over it will work again for 1-4 minutes.
I serviced the motor using the instructions in this thread - cleaned it, greased it with lithium grease, and it didn't address the problem.
Does anyone have suggestions as to what I should try next? It's strange that it would work perfectly at first, and need to be unplugged to reset it...
The lithium grease is the problem!
You shouldn't have used that for the motor: it's too sticky.
Use Mobil DTE VG 100 for oilite bearings to re-infuse the bushing.

Thank you - from the other thread it looks like a cable is getting interference, but I will also have to disassemble it, clean, and re-grease too. When I have it open next I'll do that. Thank you, Jacques!
