@olvisab:

Quite clear, no need to discuss that.

But what about the powercord?

And why shouldn't it be easy to place the rears as well - in fact that would be much more interesting.

But what about the powercord?

You connect it to a power outlet. There are usually quite a few of them around any room to select from - unlike PL sockets.

Wireless BeoLab xx ICEpower, Bang & Olufsen will revolutionize your
way to listen to music. With a wireless connection between the speakers and
TV / NAS / iProdukter / PC, you no longer need an amplifier, a CD player,
a DAC or other black boxes.

But that's probably wishful thinking. Whistle

Motorized or stationary floor stand?

Is the price an increase or decrease from the current BV12/BS3 price in EUR?

Motorized or stationary floor stand?

The stand is (of cource) motorized.

"BeoVision 12-65 and BeoSystem 4 cable connection
A number of cables are required to connect BeoVision 12-65 and BeoSystem 4:
1. Monitor Control = CAT7 white product cable e.g. 5 m, or 10 m
2. IR/Auto contrast = CAT7 white product cable e.g. 5 m, or 10 m
3. Power Link = 2.5 mm white PL cable e.g. 5 m, or 10 m
4. HDMI = HDMI cable e.g. 5 m, or 10 m
The BeoVision 12 floor stand comes with a 10 m cable that must be connected to BeoSystem 4."

No further details known yet.

i don't suppose so - the BL7's are all EOL.

But if you have a BV4 you can 'trade in' the old BSys3 with a new BSys4.

Sadly I can't imagine too many dealers would want a pre-loved standalone BS3 - it's going to be much more expensive than the incoming BS4, based on the old chassis, lacking the smart TV content and so on. What would a dealer do with a second hand BS3? The only panel in the range that requires a standalone BS3 is a BV12.

Sounds like the new BS4 could be under £2K, if they are going to package it with the BV12 for under £13K (a drop of over £4K on the current retail price).

Interesting to see whether they use the latest ZT plasma panel from Panasonic and if they will use edge-to-edge glass over the screen a la BV11

Is the BS4 going to be backwards compatible?

Just thinking if it would be something that could work with the BV9 MK3 unit?

Not that it might make much sense... Big Smile

It can be used with the BV4's - so why not?

Depends on the dimentions of the box - but could be 'mounted' external if it does not fit in.

Would be a possibility for the dealers, who still have BV9's in the shop!

I have posted parts of this info a while ago - maybe it could be useful now too.

I am exited too see and hear this 'new' BV12 soon - although I may not be in the target group for this beauty Embarrassed

BeoVision 12 New Generation

In August we are launching BeoVision 12 New Generation (NG) – a significant upgrade to the current BeoVision 12.

BeoVision 12 NG will be based on the well tested NeoPDP plasma panel with 3D, Automatic Picture Control and Automatic Colour Management. BeoVision 12 NG will, as a completely unique feature, come with a motorised floor stand option, and in addition the speaker grill of the BeoVision 12 NG will come in a new, very beautiful graphite metallic (Topaz) colour scheme, which also reduces reflections from the surroundings.

BeoSystem 4

To drive BeoVision 12 NG we are launching a brand new BeoSystem 4 which is based on the Video Engine known from BeoVision 11 and BeoPlay V1. The new BeoSystem 4 will replace BeoSystem 3.

In addition to the important feature set on TV performance, we see the updated BeoSystem 4 as a great speaker driver as it will give customers unique sound features – already known from BeoVision 11 (sound modes, bass management, TrueImage etc.).

If installed with existing BeoVision 4 setups or a SIM2 projector, it will also give the significant picture quality improvements known from the other video engine based products. In the first version, you will however only be able to control either the monitor or the projector – not both simultaneously. Dual control will be implemented in a software update prior to Christmas.

BeoVision 12 NG incl. BeoSystem 4; features in short

  • New exciting placement option unique for a TV this size – motorised floor stand
  • Colour update of BeoVision 12 loudspeaker front – to dark grey matching also the updated BeoLab 12-3 and BeoLab 12-2 which are introduced at the same time.
  • BeoSystem 4 for wall placement or hidden away fitting a 19” rack in a technique room
  • Advanced sound possibilities offered by the digital video engine with TrueImageTM, sound modes and bass management
  • Improved picture quality with adaptability and picture modes
  • Echo free  sound distribution (via NetWork link)
  • Two-way tablet control via BeoRemote App* operation
  • Smart TV and other internet features
  • Easy access to film and music via DLNA capabilities

*Two-way for iOS only. One-way app available for Android

Prices and Availability

BeoVision 12 NG and BeoSystem 4 will be available in August. Detailed launch information will follow via the normal product launch communication and the final pricing will be communicated no later than July 1st 2013. We are expecting a reduction of the Recommended Consumer Price (RCP) of a BeoVision 12 NG with BeoSystem 4 of approx. 20-25% compared to the current BeoVision 12 and BeoSystem 3 package.

This is small, but good news. I always thought the speaker on the existing BV12 was a bit too shiny and distracting. Good news it's changing to dark grey.

I wonder if my dealer wants my BV11-46 back :)
