Millemissen: Here is what I read in a review: "Throw a hammer to a nail and you will hear it ring. Kick on a bit of Howard Fishman and you will hear him sing. Like a freight train traveler, a narrative seems to flow effortlessly through his teeth. His straight-talking delivery holds that true, steady tone of old. The tracks compiled on No Further Instructions are like an intimate conversation between a visionary and a simpleton." Happy listening Millemissen

Thanks M. I will give him a go; right now I have Cheryl Bentyne curled up along side me on the couch singing softly in my ear "The Book Of Love" ....
well actually Cheryl is coming out of the A3, but it is seems almost as good as the real thing !
Also want to get Amy Duncan (there may be two ladies by this name), just released on LINN - missed their offer of a free download because I was too busy at work (damn) --- and I am currently downloading Anna Ternheim.
BeoNut since '75
In the theme of rediscovering music, old and new, on the freshly installed lab9s...then need breaking in apparently, that's my excuse anyway...
Quite a list looking over that, but I find there's often nothing to watchon the TV these days...
Hi,
that is what is playing right now - or actually a couple of hours ago.
My old times favorites: Magna Carta - the real deal, not the metal-thing!

Greetings Millemissen
There is a tv - and there is a BV
A spot of classic British Folk? Steeleye Span next?
I have to admit that I have now added Cheryl Bentyne to my Amazon wish list! She has a voice like creme caramel, you can just sink into it. Lovely
You guys are too much, That's why you like B&O.

I remember it well, a record that existed mainly for marketing, a look as us and what we did kind of thing. I say that because there wasn't one turntable/cartridge combo out of several hundred or worse that would actually track the cannon shots! There was only one setup that did in the high end store I frequented then, can't recall it though. If you looked at it on a microscope the thing had a huge sidestep. I wasn't around B&O tables then so don't know how they fared but probably pretty well as low stylus mass and such were always a part of their design approach.
Remember the old Sheffield direct to disc LPs? Thelma Houston and Pressure Cooker was always a favorite, the CD version from their backup tapes was always a disappointment, lacked all od the snap and impact of the LP. I still have a couple if these stashed back.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
Beo4 'til I die!
That must be an echo with 9 years delay of the 1812 ouverture ...

No, sadly those direct records were way too expencive for my, at that time, student budget... That overture, yes 1812, was something having much hype back then. If I remember it was later questioned was it after all decent recording at all, that technology were not capable to capture shots to a descent groove?Anyway, it would be nice to have now. And classic question "is it aviable on cd?" doesn't really apply here.

yes
sexyrexysexy:http://youtu.be/p8-pP4VboBk RIP Laura.
Last night Patrick Sweany played at a var only a block away from my house last night. The best concert of my life! Classy guy too - he signed a copy of his latest CD for me.
Rich:Went down to my FLURS and threw down on 18 cassettes. Because I can. Listening to Fleetwood Mac's Tusk for the first time. And yes, I am still in love with (nearly) 70 year-old Christine McVie.

Think big guys, think big:
Big band Jazz, Mister Glenn Miller and his band performing, on my TX2, now playing perfectly with a new belt, new RCA plugs and some more TLC. The record is from the dungeons of my sister in love, nearly mint. My Beovox 3702 speakers are ideal for this kind of music. This calls for another well mixed cuba
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.
Glenn Miller is one of my favorites as well as my father’s. Great choice!

RIP, Margaret Thatcher. Listening to Pink Floyd's The Final Cut on lunch.
Over breakfast I listened to Susanne Sundførs version of the Stevie Nicks song Wild Heart:
A nice way to start the day!
It does not happen so often anymore, but I just bought a record from Linn. All My Sins with Maeve O'Boyle, a really nice recording and well sounding music (my taste at least).
Certainly worth a listen I think.
Have a nice weekend to you all.

An accidental discovery
Enjoying his music so far ... using SPOTIFY through my BV8, B11 and 2XBL3s
Beolion and Magnus, thank you for your pointers to Susanne and Maeve, I listened to a few tracks via SPOTIFY but had to go back to Youtube for the specific track Magnus recommended ... but from Maeve's "The Brother" I was triggered to search for "The House of the Rising Sun" and ended up listening to a single of a live recording by Nina Simone - superb despite a "blemish" (but isn't that the attraction of live recordings?) at one point
