Piaf, in memory to your mother ...
Peter
Piaf:I am still in the utter and complete disbelief stage. This only happened two days ago.
My condolences Jeff.
I lost my mother in November, but at 89, and after a year of declining health - and then a rapid decline from August, it was all to be expected.
I was more shaken and upset by the death of a friend and colleague of 30 years who died suddenly unexpected
A special relationship is a wonderful thing.
And crying is a good thing.
BeoNut since '75
I got up this morning thinking nothing, but nothing was going to make me feel any better, but I was wrong.
The kind messages on this forum really helped me and I do so thank you all very much.
And yes, my relationship with my mother was an unusually good one….. most of the time. As long as I didn’t have to go along for “shopping” I was fine!
As for the crying, I have no doubt that it is good for us, but at this point, I kinda of wish it would stop already!
The first sign that I was getting back, in any way to my regular self was your comment about “losing your mother” (and I mean NO disrespect in this sad regard) but it reminded me of a funny moment with my paternal grandmother.
Those who know me know that I am a comedian. I enjoy making people laugh, but now and then it just slips out.
So picture this, I am having dinner with my grandmother and her cousin from Chicago who is dull as all get out and was droning on and on with my grandmother and I about to fall asleep from the intense boredom.
Finally this cousin turns to me and says, “Jeff, it has been four years since I lost mother.”
And without batting an eye I said, “How careless of you.”
The cousin wasn’t amused but my grandmother all but fell out of the chair hysterically laughing. (My grandmother had a wonderful laugh.) She pulled me aside after the dinner and said quietly, “Thank you.”
So guys, thanks for the kind words….. the last of which reminding me of a pleasant moment from the past.
Jeff

I'm so very sorry to hear about your loss Jeff, what a thing to taint the holidays. My sincerest condolences to you and your family. I lost my Mom two years ago Dec 17. Last year it wasn't so bad but for some reason this holiday season she was more on my mind for some reason. The year it happened by Christmas I was still kind of numb.
But as they say, time wounds all heels, though it will take some time as we all know.
I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
Thanks Jeff,
This forum is like a “family” and I genuinely appreciate the kind words, especially “wounds all heels.” An oldie but a goodie…. and you know I appreciate humor!
I am sorry about your mom as well.

Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.
Had a re-listen this morning
There is a tv - and there is a BV
This is what you get, if you go for the Blu Ray.
Why not enjoy music as multichannel sound, when you have a nice B&O setup.
I prefer the PCM 5.1 version.

Millemissen:Why not enjoy music as multichannel sound, when you have a nice B&O setup.
Why not enjoy music like it should be, in front of you, 2 channel stereo, , listening to Chuck Berry, saying good buy to my Beovox 3702 as main speakers in my living room, tomorrow the M70s will reign there, there is a lot of good music out there, but somehow I cant get away (and dont want to) from Chuck and the Rolling Stones, I listen a lot to other music, but always get droven back to those. BTW this double LP is pressed mostly from old mono recordings edited to stereo, very good result.
Hi Søren,
Good move. There is no doubt that you will enjoy your M70 speakers more than the 3702’s. (No disrespect to the older speakers intended.)
You are completely right, the way to go is to listen to a real stereo, with real speakers and enjoy the MUSIC.
As you know I am fortunate enough to have five stereo systems and I enjoy them all…. as they are all different.
Viva la diferencia.
My M70s now hooked up with my Onkyo, not on stands yet, but what a sound, Of course I had to dig out my old Rolling Stones record, Around and Around, Bought back in 1970 or there about. And has been following me since then, through various moves between cities and countries, I only have 5-6 records that has done that.
Well the Stones brought back so many memories, that I nearly got tears in my eyes, so to cheer myself up I put on Beach boys
M70’s NOW you are talking! Good for you Søren.
Enjoy to the max!
Søren Mexico: Well the Stones brought back so many memories, that I nearly got tears in my eyes, so to cheer myself up I put on Beach boys
Now this album I have..... from new. The Beach boys will cheer you up every time!
With these speakers Jeff my TX2 with MMC2 will be exercised more than ever in the next days, tomorrow the BM 4400 will come into a long lasting position in my living room, oh what a joy this will give me.
I am SO glad you are using your M70 speakers. I am not sure how well they equate to the S75’s, but I would imagine they sound more similar than dissimilar. (And it is no secret how much I enjoy the S75’s….)
Ah and your restoration triumph, the Beomaster 4400….. you don’t need to tell me (or anyone) how much pleasure that will give you. I look forward to your review.
Now redundant as this is, I was just playing my new Bette Midler album and thought of you. Søren, you really NEED to order this record. Can you imagine playing it on either of your systems?
Enough said. Have a cuba and enjoy the sound!

smile and enjoy the moment
Picked up TV on the Radio's new album yesterday after hearing their new song Happy Idiot. Currently playing on my BeoSystem 4500 and my beloved BeoLab 5000s. Yes you read that right, my BeoLab 5000s are back in action! Keep your eye out for their photographic debut on the Flash your B&O thread after I hang them up.
Beo4 'til I die!

Nice pic Jeff, and the Queens photographer no less, there is a web cam on Abbey Road now Google Web cam Abbey Road.
Søren I know you are a big Rolling Stones fan but the Beatles were the band for me. i got a chance to go to this cross walk in St. John's Woods out side the Abbey road studion and it was funniy to watch people tryiing to take the walk and get their picture taken by friends but cars would be coming and stop because it is a cross walk and people would have to keep motioning the cars to move on so they would not be in the picture. If I recall they now have a flashing iight so motorist know to stop.
