Hi,

as there are many Systems out there I want to know if the Beomaster 5 is DLNA and/or UPnP compatible?

I want to access the Beomaster 5 via other UPnP or DLNA clients.

Does the Beomaster 5 has the ability to act like a NAS to offer access for other systems?

Hopefully somebody knows it :-)

The BM5 is DLNA compatible if you select "multimedia server" on the service menu.

But if you want to have full NAS functionnalities and good reliability, I would suggest to go for a (at least) a dual drive NAS (from QNAP or Synology) in RAID, in order to have a backup of the data in case of disk failure. Then you can add a BS5 or BS5E to this bulletproof database (if its only for some multimedia files, the BM5 is sufficient, but for important datas, a good NAS is mandatory.
