Hi all,

Sorry posted this in the wrong section previously!

After playing a cd earlier, the carriage/laser dropped suddenly to the base position and wont return to the home/top position. Is this a common problem? will it be easy to get repaired? expensive?

It might be as simple as cleaning the finger protection sensors - look for two small, clear things that stick out from opposite ends of the metal surface near the open side of the glass door.  Wipe gently with a clean, soft cloth, and that could be it.

Mine did the same thing a few years ago. Unfortunately that was before I knew about Beoworld but after the local store closed, so I wound up taking it 60 miles to a repair shop to find out it just needed the prisms cleaned. Super Angry

Jeff

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus. Sad
