Nearly as annoying as these constant web links in posts where people can't be ar*ed to link up via the toolbar above :)

ie. http://www.google.com -> http://www.google.com

Easy, eh?

So I'm confused now..

I thought ebay links to your own items and using Beoworld as a commercial outlet were frowned upon (apart from paid sponsors).

Do the floodgates open for everyone?

I see the toolbar - but where is the option for that?

You mean like this:

http://www.bang-olufsen.com

I tried that before - with the same result Sad

How much 'efford' should I put in it?

Sorry, I thought that would work.

If you see the toolbar, highlight a word, go to the toolbar and insert/edit link. Fill in the url, and (optional) set target to new window.

The word you highlighted is now a link.

[ url ]http://www.google.com[ /url ] (minus the spaces) will work - the previous example did not work as it left out the colon between 'http' and '//' so was not a valid URL

There is no 'insert/edit link' in the toolbar!

Sorry for being so numb - this has been irritating me for a long time Huh?

Must have a look at the toolbar when using my pc tomorrow to see if it is different there.

I had the colon in at first, then let it out because it was let out in the first example.

Now it is in again (have a look) - but no changes anyhow.

I know this code - and more - I use them all the time, when I write on the danish 'Hifi4all' forum.

No problems there.

Hmm, not sure what your browser is doing then, but looking at your post in the html view you have ended up with the following:

[<span>url]http://www.bang-olufsen.com</span>

whereas when I type [ url ]http://www.bang-olufsen.com[ /url ] (without the spaces) I end up with the open bracket after the <span> tag, and it is correctly interpreted as a link.

Maybe it's a bug in whichever browser you are using, or maybe it was because you were editing a previously post rather than typing a new one - very bizarre!  UnsureConfused

Martin.

Yes it is, when you're using an iPad and there's no link to click and most posts contain a link, which isn't clickable. Happens every day.

I've seen posts which *only* contain a link, and it's just a piece of text :)

Hi all. The first link to the eBay seller mark r is a pleasure to deal with I purchased my beosound 9000 wall bracket of him and could not fault the service. I watch him as a seller and he currently has boxed 6002 and boxed 8002 which rarely appear on eBay.

Thanks

I don't know 'mark' - can't say anything about the quality of his services.

My point was, why make 15 (!) post in a row with his offers?

He could have made 1 with them all.

Whether acting this way on the forum (he is a seller, isn' he) is acceptable or not, according to the guidelines of the forum, I'll of cource have to let the admins decide.

For me - as a forum-user - it seemed like spamming the forum.

Here is a screenshot from my iPad.

As you see the 'link/unlink' buttons are greyed out - not active.

Why, I don't know. Other elements in the toolbar work well Smile

In Safari on my Mac they are active though - as you see below.

www.bang-olufsen.com

So, this has nothing to do with being lazy or not wanting to......

What options do I have:

Sitting at my desk with my Mac all day long? No, that won't happen! The iPad has been invented - it is with me wherever I am in the house.

Not posting URL's at all? That would be possible (is it really that hard to 'copy/paste' a URL into a new tab?)

Keep on searching for a solution. That'll take time, perhaps? The codes I know from other websites don't seem to work on BeoWorld.

Wait for wonders to happen?

So have mercy on me, kære Søren Embarrassed

I can confirm that it's impossible to make an active link with an ipad.

It don't work with the APP nor the browser.

EDIT: link below is made in an iPad. Use chrome as your browser.

At least something I can live with - and hopefully others too?

Tested another code (that works on the danish Hifi4All-forum).

Goes like this:

Push the button or copy/paste the URL: http://www.bang-olufsen.com/da - it's your choice Stick out tongue

Hi Bo,

thanks - I did not get that far, before I found the (above/page2) solution.

And I do not like the thought of having to switch to another browser because of that issue.
