Looks great, and sounds even better than the 12 apparently.

And at £399! Once the reviews start coming in, hopefully they'll fly out the door as quick as the A2Yes - thumbs up

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

Yes - I don't know why they feel the need to write something that obvious... It's like if some testdriver of a car would write: "It consumes more fuel when you drive at full speed"... Surprise, surprise... As if we didn't know that...

Would be a completely different device then.

This is just a bigger A2!

Does the internals woofers differ from the 12?

Uses the same 3D sound technology as the A2, but not sure about the speakers.

Isn't the "3D" just that the speakers are facing front and back?

Went to my dealer last night to pick a 'lit 15 but they are not here yet.

One Rosa will be in the shop next week for display, one champagne for display only in march and no information about the blue delivery.

I'm curious to see how it performs compared to the Beloit 12 and the Beplay A2. I'm surprised to see that it is 2x35W when the A2 is 2x30W...

I wonder what the BeoLit 15 would have looked like with a slot loading CD player up the top a la Apple Cube?

The cutaway diagram on the Beoplay site shows tweeters at the corners. Probably needed for the 360 effect, so my guess is that there are significant changes.

Sadly the Beolit 12 has been removed from the site, so even if there had been a cutaway for it we can not do a comparison.

Haha Oh Michael! A CD player wouldn't work on that design with speaker so close. The vibration would send the laser everywhere! My BeoSound Century was a very expensive lesson there! Plus the person who buys a bluetooth speaker for their smartphone properly has never used a damn old CD. I stopped using them in 2000 after that horrible nasty Century B&O crap that I owned!!! What a terrible terrible terrible CD player that was - the worst that I've ever owned. Pure rubbish.

I always thought the Century was quite popular and I wasn't aware of any history of massive returns or quality issues.

We quite often used to stay at a hotel near Harrogate a few years back, the rooms of which had a wall-mounted Century. they always functioned perfectly, first time when I used them.

Ban boring signatures!

You are talking pure rubbish there my friend !

i have owned a Century from new in 1997 and it is still fantastic . Always been wall mounted ; only moved once so only two walls involved . That could be why I've never had vibration problems . It was very expensive but not a mistake for me. I still regularly try to justify changing it but it's a great machine.

My Century is 20 years old, is used daily and is one of the best audio units I have from B&O - an opinion shared by anyone who listens to it.  It's in the kitchen on a table stand on a breakfast bar in a recess between 2 wall cupboards which I think helps the sound quality - especially by boosting the bass a bit.  It has operated flawlessly every day whether via radio, tape or CD (and ipod connector via AUX).  It's an iconic part of B&O history - almost as iconic as the BS9000.  Any audio unit from any maker can be abused to destruction which I suspect is what you may have done to your Century in the past.  The Century is still desired by many today and still commands excellent resale value so I don't think many people agree with you on this one.

Dave.

Century was my first B & O product bought new in 1995.

Extraordinary entry level product at the time.

Untill I replaced it for an Ouverture I had tons of joy with it.

Everyone was impressed with the sound quality.

But there can always be a few lemons in the mix :-)

The radio antenna handle on the Century, to me, is the cherry on top. I love the look of the spartan functional handle.

The only times I've experienced it is in the store years and years ago, and the sound was superb, as was the look. In all black with red lit buttons just made the thing seem out of this world.

Yes - thumbs up

I had their press photo of those buttons, all lit up, as my windows music server's desk top back in 2003/4

Some of you may remember that thread from 3 or 4 boards ago Big Smile

I had a stripped down laptop inside an emptied Beocord 5000

Unfortunately it used suffer from heat exhaustion and freeze/crash

Those buttons used the same technique as the illuminated buttons used in cars. But the addition of only illuminating when required made it special!
