Great to read that some of you are having great success with your BS Moment.
I haven't decided on an audio system just yet due to the issues I had with the Encore - I'm going to wait for the Moment to have everything that I would want in an audio system before i decide.
Can't wait to find out about the multi room and also if in future multi room speakers or the ability for smaller WISA speakers.
I suppose Sean says it all when he says that he has rediscovered radio.
I could not get the covers to work with my Western Digital myCloud NAS. However the Moment/Covers works perfectly connected to a BeoMaster 5 , only drawback is that it needs the BeoSound 5 connected also. Go figure...
Seanie_230: Deezer is alright too, how do you like tracks on the interface when deezer is playing random songs?

JoostdenEngelsman: Does anyone have a 100% score on artist portraits and album covers, both on the Moment and in the Beo Music App? If so, interested to learn more about your set-up.

Artist portraits is populated from Gracenote. Not even Deezer it self has Artist portraits on all artsts. I think that is quite bad. A
Album art is populated from the metadata you have on your NAS.
Thank you.
I have rediscovered radio and i have not listened to Radio for years outside of the car. I have the Beosound 4 DAB but never bothered to put up the antenna.
I have four stations that i listen to and that does me.
I have a question will the software update allow the moment to have locally connected speakers and speakers on the telly (ML) so i can have the moment in its own room running my penta 3's?
If so then i dont need to buy a active link and eye if its only the end of the month to wait to see if it is going to be possible.

I would except that (but do not know for sure). Would mean that you access the Moment from your TV as a linked source, and can play in your linkroom.

Hi JoostdenEngelsman,
I have a Synology 412+ and you are right, it works well with the BS Moment - except, like you wrote too, the mess-up with the Covers and the wrong order of titles in a playlists. If I turn off the Cover-View, the Moment processes the shared Synology-network-Music-folder remarkably faster. But the missing Cover-Support from Music, served by the Synology, bothers me a lot, since I spent so much time in the past years to have a fully Meta-tagged-Music-Collection. I tried different Servers (Hard-/Softwareserver) to find out, how the BS-Moment is processing a Server or Music and their Metatags. Still no glue!
As far as I know now, the BS Moment "reads" a Twonky-Server much better. With Twonky every Cover of every album is shown (100%) correctly. The moment shows the exactly the same cover which is embedded in the file. On the Synology-NAS it is quite the contrary. The more Musicfiles you throw at the Moments with a Synology-Media-Server, the more trouble you will face with the BS-Moment. The whole system becomes slow and laggy. I experienced not only issues with covers. If the music-collection is to big or the playlists contain to many titles, the Moment and the App "decide" to "hide" things from you. Out of the Blue - some of my Albums/Playlist don't show any title - they seemed to be "empty" - but if I double-tapp on the same album or Playlist - the content behind will be played. We all got no explaination from B&O, why they recommend especially only Twonky-Server. After my experiences I have to assume, that B&O tested the Moment just with twonky - or, even worse, that B&O faced the same issues with different Servers and decided to go on nevertheless. In the End - there is nothing wrong with your Synology-NAS. If you can "live" without the covers- fine. Your Synology is not the cause of the cover-issues - the cause is the lack of development. Every other Mediaplayer can handle/show embedded covers. The BS-Moment was not ready for the market. Period! Hopefully B&O will ask someone who knows how to fix these bugs very soon.
Cheers Beroli
@MM still like my BS Moment
My birdie gives me a whistle today, but it was not a good song:
Multiroom update delayed... August...
"Believe nothing you read and only half of what you see, let your ears tell you the truth."
Unbelievable!😢
Seanie_230:Does this mean no software update or an update that might include other bits like search etc
I'm only informed about the delay in the multiroom function update, nothing is mentioned to me about delays for other functions, as is search.
There are some appliances in the B&O range who are not yet ready for the multiroom function. I now understand the engineering team who wants us customers and dealers give a complete and finished product.
On the B&O website 'multiroom comes in Summer', to my knowledge August is still Summer...
lonfred:My retailer has put his Moment in a dark corner and he tries to avoid questions about it.... So far it seems to be a disaster. I would like to to see the Multiroom function now!!
Raeuber: lonfred: My retailer has put his Moment in a dark corner and he tries to avoid questions about it.... So far it seems to be a disaster. I would like to to see the Multiroom function now!! Mine too. And he refuses to sell the Moment to custumers if they don't make the setup at home by themselves and accept to ask no questions.

What?? Yeah right! Then he could start selling something else... I suggest that some of you would try the Moment, i am using it all the time and i am super happy..
Raeuber:B&O should discontinue this rubbish!
+1
Agree with Normann. There are too many negative posts regarding some products on this forum, mainly from people that do not own the product in question.
I was reluctant to buy the Moment after all the negative "press" on Beoworld, but I did and have been using it for over a month now - and I am super happy, as well. Finally a product that is as easy to use as it is to look at - pretty much the same could be said for our BeoMaster 1900: press one (!) button to listen, and a very emotional mix of metal and fine wood that you can't ignore.
Sure, there will be people that would like to connect it in a way that will require a PhD in computer science - but they should be sorted out through places like this on the net IMHO.
Pick up the tablet and bring it with you - and re-discover old favorites and discover new artists from a very user friendly interface (my significant other noted that the BeoRemote One was rather complicated to learn to use compared to this tablet interface).
I have gone back to listening to music, not turning on telly, at night. The Moment is a brilliant product that only a company like B&O could have released, it ticks off most of the corporate identities.
I fear that the horrible experience some dealers had with the BeoSound /-Master 5 reflects badly on the Moment.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Maybe some of the dealers should listen to what the users, who have had the device for some time at home now, can say about it.
But - I must admit - that it is easier to sell a product, where you just have to pop in a disc, or where you just have to push a button to pair it with a Bluetooth device....

Agree,
Also, features like the Pattern Play is very difficult to show to a customer in the store. All you can do is to say that the Moment will learn over time.
BeoBoy68:About BeoSound Moment: I read on this forum only problems and I hear complaints from retailers. The worst audio system never launch by B&O. Bang & Olufsen should concentrate his energy and creativity only for loudspeakers.

Aussie Michael: If August is pushed out isn't that what B&O said that it is ready summer ? So there's no love lost there?

It seems 'realistic', that part of the update may have to wait for august (which is still summer).
Very soon the guys in Struer will start their summer holiday - not a good time, if everyone wants support for the (complicated) part of the update - the multiroom part.
Annoying (indeed), but I'd rather have a more mature update with the possibility of a quick support, than a rushed one.
Besides - a lot of the dealers has not been trained on 'multiroom' yet.
Raeuber: Some people are happy with the Moment although there are many features left and software bugs. But I guess they are only happy to justify their purchase.

Let them speak for themselves - I am certainly not sure, that you are right on that.
If we could have just a moment (no pun there) away from negativity, we could regard the BS Moment as a device, that improves over time, gets new updates and features for free.
Did your beloved BS9000 improve over time
Raeuber: We could also read here that the software engineers had been fired and software development of the Moment had been outsourced.
We could also read here that the software engineers had been fired and software development of the Moment had been outsourced.
Is this really correct? I think I read that they where shifting the software dev team from one company to another. So, the development was in fact already outsourced.

Raeuber:Hi MM, if I buy any product I have a list of requirements this product should fulfill. This was the case with my BS9000 and I never missed any feature, also I didn't recognize any software bug. I wouldn't buy a car if the dealer tells me it actually can only drive forward, but there will come an update for backward very soon. Regards Räuber
Millemissen: Besides - a lot of the dealers has not been trained on 'multiroom' yet.
Training started two weeks ago... Most of the dealers have to be well informed by now.
Weeks ago I had doubts about the proposed date (week 25), now I feel it won't be before a launch of Essence MK II. Too much emphasis is put on a complete finished product for dealers to sell, a product without the hassle for dealers... Software, connection problems, etc... I get the feeling in corridors that this delay appears to be also a cause of dealers who are investing to much time on buyers under warranty conditions, remember time is money.
Keep convinced about the Moment, the multiroom will be worth the wait... And I'm starting already to save some money for Essence, who will show finally its true potential...
Millemissen:Very soon the guys in Struer will start their summer holiday
Indeed, but maybe there will be a mid-term update coming, to keep us happy before the Multiroom.
Well, I had the Moment in my home for several weeks.
I think for people loving B&O products that were produced somewhere between 1990 and 2012 the Moment really feels not right. They can offer as many SW updates as they want. It will always stay that cheap looking android tablet which is squeezed into an aluminium frame and docked on that chunky dock in my eyes.
It really has to be the B&O music system with the lowest development cost and shortest time to market ever seen in their history. Just think of all the mechanical parts in e.g. a BS9000 or a BC2. Not to mention all the non-standard production processes needed for such a product.
I am pretty sure that the initial concept and design idea of the Moment was great. But if you ask me I think that the financial department just said "too expensive..."
Aussie Michael:Lol. It's a CD player. There is no software lol.

The majority are not interested in all the mechanical mythology, it just have to work fine and gives you pleasure. For most owners it does, including myself and not everyone is interested in that Multiroom affair. The majority of buyers are having a set-up with a B&O television, speakers and a Moment and are perfectly proud and happy satisfied owners.
Raeuber: Aussie Michael: Lol. It's a CD player. There is no software lol. Hey, of course every CD player has software, even a coffee machine has software nowadays. But you can't update it. So, no reason for 'LOL'!!!

That was exactly my point.
Nowadys an audiodevice is very much a software-thing.
No need to improve a BS9000 - it is what it is. Although minor updates were made to how it react in a (ML) network, which required the swap of a chip and - in most cases - a visit at a service center.
Noone would ever think of saying, that the AppleWatch wasn't finished as they released it - even if we now just a short time after hear of an updated WatchOS, native app's and more. It is a device, that improves and get more functions with time. That is how things work nowadays!
Noone would say - looking at the iPad (1) - that it wasn't finished, and that Apple should have waited releasing an iPad untill they have developed iOS9.
Note: I do not want to start a discussion on Apple/Watch/iPad - this was just meant as an example of the influence of the software evolution in the products we have nowadays.
If someone does not want the Moment or does not need it in his setup, he should not buy it - it is that easy.
A personally preference against a particular product should not lead to a demand of discontinuing it.
@Raeuber - Be happy with your setup and don't pick on those, who like it and who have trust in it and in the future updates for an improved interface and the future NL possibilities.
Chris:Actually take a look at this picture, and tell me the comparison. The Beocom becomes a huge success and keeps that success, all build with 'cheap' Philips parts.
BC6000 is a custom B&O design. I don't know where you get this from? Maybe the DECT module is from an external company but thats all.
It is hard to compare a phone to a music system. Maybe start with taking both and try to operate them in a bright room (or even outside). You will soon notice that you can easily read the display of the BC6000.On the Moment you will see next to nothing expect a lot of finger prints. This even gets worse if you try to navigate on the screen as your hand will cover the lightsensor and the display dims down.
The charger pyramid perfectly suits to the size of the BC6000. The dock of the Moment is much too big. Maybe because it was too expensive to design custom internal parts that would be smaller...
I won't argue about personal preferences. There are also people who like Bose, Sonos, etc.So if you like it that's totally okay.
I love the build quality, the design and the mechanics of BV7, BS9000, BC2, BS5, etc. And I think thats totally okay, too. Maybe people like Räuber and me have to accept that the company that engineered those products doesn't exist any more.
Chris: Indeed, but maybe there will be a mid-term update coming, to keep us happy before the Multiroom.
The 'multiroom update' is not (only) a BS Moment-thing.
It is an update to the NL-network functionalty, which includes updates to the NL-enabled BV's, the Essence 2nd Generation, the A9 2nd Generation, the NL/ML Converter...
This is not an easy task and should be seen a seperate job beside the update for the Moment-interface (improved search function on Deezer, TuneIn....).
My guess is, that we will see this update now, and - so it seems - the NL-update in august.
