Actually we had dinner there... and tasted all their production: pils, hell, weizen, dunkel, keller, ... Big Smile

You pay for the visit and they offer you as much beer and food as you wish.

Not exactly my taste, more like a healthy juice in a ridiculous cup.

Brewed exclusively for Jilles, a very small hipster restaurant located in the 3 main cities of my country. Mainly hamburger dishes, oh well....

Looking at the fridge behind your beer, you're going to have a true Belgian night! Try the Delirium Tremens (white bottle with pink elephant). You'll enjoy it!

Hey Jans. Guess what...... we have it on draft!!!!

So cool! I have not seen Delirium on draft before! Where are you living? Seems like a very nice place with a lot of good beers!

Only sold at the production plant in Kreuztal (Germany). Not filtered, not pastorized, you can really feel all the natural ingredients it is made of, a real liquid bread, as they say Big Smile

The only negative (positive) point: use by 29.03.2017

I live in a magical Kingdom Jans where whenever someone recommends a beer to you the next bar you walk into has it on draft!

It's actually called Sheffield. Wink

We have some good bars and pubs which are fully embracing the craft beer revolution.

The Queen of all beers!! Smile and my favorite as well, a real work of art...

Excellent choice!

Sorry to correct you, the alcohol content is not 12%, it is around 10%. Smile

I usually drink it with aged cheese!

I curious to know what you drank it with...

Almost impossible to find here in Italy, unless you have the right friends Wink

Pailomariano

It is a bit confusing indeed. The name of the beer is Westvleteren 12, but the alcohol content is 10.2%. Regardless of the name and the percentages, the beer was very soft, smooth and somewhat sweet.

I drank it as 'aperitif' and then continued with an excellent cote a l'os!

In the restaurant they also had Westvleteren Blond and 8 on the card, but they didn't have any in stock. So I will have to go back!

You are right!

It is confusing. Smile

The reason it is called 12 is that when it was first introduced, it used to have 12 degrees.

Interesting you have started with Westvleteren XII.

I have never tried to do that.

Next time try it at the end of the meal, together with some good chocolate...

Very important: drink it at cellar temperature, not cold!

Fantome - tell us more about it.................

It is produced by a very small brewery in Soy (Belgium). They can only produce around 35.000 liter per year.

Fantôme Saison (8.0%) is their flagship beer. It has a fine perlage, almost no foam, a light color.

You can feel peach, strawberry and, at the very end, a taste of chocolate.

Try it together with some nuts. You will be amazed.
