Major project this summer as I liquidated half my collection to get my avant 85" but loving it. I have several items for sale lab10 bv 4 65 6000 bs3. Please contact if interested!Big Smile

You are indeed a Junkie :-)  That's a great looking setup .  Great hearing you're happy with the new Avant.  Looks great with the BL5s in your room. How is it (sound wise) with the floor boards?

BeoLit 12 is dead ..... Long live the BeoLit 12......

it's strange how my BeoLit has all of a sudden become stable with hardly any dropouts even reaching into my garden... Today I decided to blow the dust off my iPod classic

we tend to forget there is more to design than designing.

We love our Beolit 15 and its Bluetooth works. No hardwire but the leather strap is not as good as our old 12. I wonder if they're interchangeable?

That's one hell of a collection.

I may or may not own a pristine, unrestored, fully working Beolit 39 - but I cannot say... Cool

That's Jan.
His collection is legendary and his website often referred to, but I'm not sure if he is still collecting.

The Beocord 5000 looks a bit out of place Laughing
Hey, wait a minute, I don't have the old "one-eyed" on the left section. Is that a 4-Lamper or a prototype?

Hi Martin,

Yes, the one on the left is also a question for me.

Only the 1927 3-lamps had  one  micro scale knob, but this one looks diferent.

Could be either a prototype or a home made replica.

It's not a 1927 4-lamps. The  4-lamps has two micro scale knobs.

Really nice collection. Probaly it is only one part of it.

But where do you see Beocord 5000 on this picture, Martin?

Either I do not see good anymore or you are looking on to this picture with some strange 5D glasses Huh?

Rightmost section, top shelf.
You can just spot a corner of it. It's light oak and the lid doesn't close correctly.

Nope. It's mounted under the desk. Generates no heat so integration could be a solution at some point.

geert bergmans:

I was speechless, it sounds beautiful and realistic. The treble was brilliant [without any keen fring], mid range and bass were tight, without a track of ravel and resonance. With my eyes closed, it was as if I was sitting in a concert hall and this time with goose-flesh of emotion.

Now, two weeks later, we have the Beolab 20 definitive in our living.

Hi Geert,

How are you still finding the BeoLab 20s?

@Aussie. Recently I have listen to the Blu-Ray ‘Faust’ of Gounod. It’s a live recording from the world famous ‘Metropolitan Opera House’ in New York.

How realistic this sounds with the Lab 20 on level 60 on the Avant TV. Notable was that there was nothing of sharpness at the ‘crescendo’. This is the most biggest gain of this speaker. Everything is divided more equable and by that more transparent.

Stated differently: we still are very enthusiast.

Thank you for replying Geert, I appreciate it.

They sound just marvellous.

I listened to the 20s vs the 5 in Sydney when they were released and I preferred them back then.

I love that you can get new colours for them too.

With your driftwood beige, is it possible to change the speaker cloth or it comes as it is?

DTV = SAT

V.Aux = Shift + TV

Stand turning = Picture + </> (if my memory serves me well).

Would you look at that!

Tnx :)

If I want to sell it, what could I charge for it? The display is not perfect, some pixels are missing. But it is only on some of the display settings.

I did not do anything on the back, just took everything out and cut away the internal metal elements. Here is a picture of the inside, with the settopbox on the left, the raspberry pi on the right, and a hdmi > hdmi+audio converter at the back. The power adapter from the settopbox is in between the metal plates on the left, because it fitted and helps reduce the heat. Still it all gets pretty warm, and the hard drive from the settopbox can make a bit of noise in the resonating cabinet, but I am very happy with how it looks and the sound is not noticeable if I have any music or TV in the room. I have IR leads from the Iintronic -238 going to the front of the settopbox, and to the round USB IR eye from the pi, so I only use the Beo4 for all components.

Nice, your MC-30...

I always wanted one of those in such a nice condition...

And how is your setup connected to the BV 7-32? Do you use this CX-100 as a central speaker? How did you connect the Cona in the setup (is it the COna in the right corner)?

This is very cool, I really love the idea of using the HDR2 as a "cable box". Are there any other vintage items that could be refunctioned? The HDR2 is quite a big box for this purpose, but I cannot think of anything better either.

How much work was it to cut out all the parts inside? Do you have a hole in the back to get the cables out? Why do you steer the RPi directly and not viau PUC?

5000 stackable components - specifically the cassette tape.

Around 2003/04? I attempted a laptop inside one except after 10 or so minutes the laptop kept overheating and freezing windows and the beoplayer musiiiiiiiiiiiiii

I then tried a damaged but operable really cheap thinkpad from eBay however in disassembling it I managed render it totally inoperable

At that point I gave up and acquired a beoport instead

I still have the 5000 carcass and lately I have been think of placing the macmimi in it.

The metal elements are sturdy, and I did not really have the proper tools. If you have a good cutter of some sort is should be easier. Still, it only took an hour before it was clean I think.

I am not powering the RPI directly because I did not have the codes, and I think updating the PUC list is expensive. Also, I got the lintronic box for a very good price second hand, and I want to be able to change my settopbox and configuration every once in a while.
