Hi

I'd like to start a thread on my whole house being renovated.

Some pictures below to start off with working on a new annex in the garden.

The annex will be an open plan summer house with 1 bedroom ensuite and packed with B&O on ML or NL.

Key points on install components:

Home automation: BLGW

Lighting: Lutron HomeWorks QS, Grafik Eye QS

Video Distribution: AV over IP

All rooms will have B&O NL TVs, B&O Music Systems or legacy TVs used as a music system through ML. I have many with the surround module.

All ensuites and dressing rooms will have a BL3500.

I will have 3 or 4 NL/ML Converters - a Masterlink for every person if they wish. A main unit in their bedroom - BS4/BS9000/BS3200/BS5 - connected to their ensuite BL3500 and rooms they like to chill...

Garden audio will be TruAudio Outdoor Landscape series with 2 10inch underground subwoofers and 8 speakers hidden in the bushes.

All will be centralised in a dedicated server room in the main house.

I will keep this thread updated on the full build.

Regards

That is an impressive collection. Blimey, you are on your way to making a B&O museum. Wow, wow, wow. I want to visit when you're done: perhaps Lee can organise a ticket sale. I love how you hold on to older products rather than trading them in for the latest but maybe or maybe not the greatest.

.

Present: BL90, Core, BL6000, CD7000, Beogram 7000, Essence Remote.

Past: BL1, BL2, BL8000, BS9000, BL5, BC2, BS5, BV5, BV4-50, Beosystem 3, BL3, DVD1, Beoremote 4, Moment.

I hate trading anything in or selling. My dad bought his first Beocenter 9000 15-20 years ago and he's been on a roll since. Has me addicted.

I'm further developing everything with Masterlinks. I wish he knew about this.

It will only be B&O in my house.

You are most welcome to visit ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

UPDATE

I will be installing Heatmiser NeoHub to control all central heating and underfloor heating.

This will eliminate any problems if the heating fails to talk to the home automation.

In the end, I don't want to call my home automation guy if the heating fails at any point.

I want every system to have independent control but be able to talk to the home automation so if anything fails through the home automation, I am still able to operate the function directly - lights, heating, blinds, music.

Hi Kiran,

It may well be as cheap to run Masterlink cables instead of Cat cables for ML, this should give you better results over long cable lengths.

Kind regards, Steve.

Hi Steve

I was thinking of doing that but the crimp for the ML connectors is £800 lol. I hate how even my B&O dealer currently cuts 2 ends off and then joins/solders the wires to make an ML cable. It doesn't sit right in my head like that.

In the future, if I want to stop using certain ML products and change to NL, it will be very easy as that data point will be RJ45 ready for anything if I stick with Cat6A.

Thanks for input โ˜บ๏ธ ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

You could always use the ML junction they're cheap.

I'd go with Cat if it were me. Future proofing

Let me know if you need any ML cable or plugs fitting!

I'm going to stick with running Cat6a and RJ45 wall plates.

Any Masterlink will be done using the RJ45 to ML cable but I'm restricted to a white 1.5metre cable and the black one 30 centimetres.

Steve, could you make desired lengths of black RJ45 to ML?

I have asked you this before lol

This was in white, they also do a 1.5 meter one. Your local dealer should be able to order them for you, I got mine from AVA when I had my Beolab 3 fixed by them

I am installing Lutron HomeWorks QS, seeTouch keypads, Pico wireless for cars, a few RF seeTouch tabletop keypads and 2 Grafik eye QS for the summer house and kitchen/dining area in main house.

I really don't need the Grafik eye QS in my setup but my mum loves the look of it lol.

All windows will be wired up and ready to take Sivoia blinds.

I now have the Beolink Gateway but I have no idea what I will be doing with it. Can anyone advise best use for my setup?

I have Lutron for lighting, fountains in the garden, sivoia blinds and operating the front gates.

I will have heatmiser neohub for the whole house heating.

Cameras still need to be bought. They will be dual/triple stream so I can use MJPEG stream for the BLGW if needed.

I will have iPads mounted using the B&O in-wall surrounds across the house.

Audio and Video will be covered through B&O Masterlink/Networklink and Atlona matrix.

I will have ceiling speakers throughout the house through a BeoAmp 16 and a few BS Essences in the server room and control through iDevices.

I have also learnt the ceiling speakers can connect to the TVs as long as there is a Cat for powerlink going back to the server room from the TV. I'm not sure about sound delay problems in this.

Any thoughts on what I need the BLGW for? LOL

Regards
