Ubiquiti is pretty amazing. It’s my best investment in my infrastructure to date. Beside my on single AP AC-LR (which covers my 314 m2 house), I also have the USG, a couple of Unify switches with POE and a Unify Controller.

Works flawless and performance is incredible. You won’t regret it!

Slightly off topic but anyway...Smile

My Ubiquiti AP AC-LR is wall mounted and I’m not that impressed with the range.

Should I expect reduced range when wall mounted?

When you say wall-mounted, I assume the AP is positioned vertically?

Not a good idea... The radiation pattern of the AP`s is designed for ceiling mounting.

Funny...

I’ve shown those 2 photos to some people...

They think its only a mirror...

When I say its a TV too, they don’t believe me...

I’m not allowed to take the wrapper off... yet!

Only time will tell 😝😉😏

Go steady Kiran... BL3500's don't like wet areas! I know from experience! Keep the bathroom well ventilated if you're filling up the bath or running a shower All the best, Simon.

B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.
11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

Hi Kiran

Are you renovating your old famy house or you purchase that house not long ago ?

Do you have family ...as i can't see any signe of family ...sorry ...just asking ?

Nice progress trough.

Just a tipp...maybe you should do some indise wall pritection behind TV.

...moisture and insulation wool are not the best friend.
Also electronics and humid place.
Recently, I open the Berolab 3 speakers that someone had near the pool.
After 3 years they are completely sucked.
Only for reflection

It’s an old house we’ve owned for 30 years.

Planning permission has been going back and forth for the last 9 years and it changed drastically in the last 2 years when I learnt how to ride the Masterlink...

There is a black backing plate to the TV. You can see this in one of the pictures. You need this for it sit properly and protection. It has clamps where the TV slots into it... it does have a big gaping hole in though for wires...

I don’t like to show family members on the thread and we are very much living in it throughout the whole build...

You can see my dad sweeping around sometimes in some photos lol...

Kiran, you might find this interesting re smart home integration.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azNK_Tgkb30

It's not using B&O products, but its a nice end result.

Anyway, its probably worth 8 minutes of your time.

Later.

I’m doing exactly this.

I’ve covered every component he has in his little cabinet and more.

I’m also preparing the house for another brain...

If I find the BLGW to not look, feel, operate and function as I would like it to, then my house will be ready for RTI, Crestron or Savant... 👍🏻💯

For me, it’s all about the GUI...

I have mine now for 5 years mounted in the bathroom. Especially in winter, when it's cold outside, I never open the window, only let the bathroom door stay open after showering or bathing.

Never had a problem with the BL3500 there.

Doesn't look like a Seura.  What brand is it?

P.S.  I swear I'm going to design a lampshade to clip onto those Ubiquiti WAP's...

If only the light rings on the WAPs were a little brighter. They would make a great blue night light...

You may add a higher voltage than the standard 48V POE to get them light brighter Big Smile

He was joking; hopefully you are too.  For anybody else who runs across this by searching: yes, LEDs can get a little brighter but pretty soon they overheat.  The curve is surprisingly steep: https://electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/256336/does-led-brightness-change-with-voltage

The first thing I had to do after installing my APs was to deactivate the status LEDs.

My wife could „see“ them through the closed bedroom door.

Naar I wasn’t going to try anything to increase the brightness...

They are UAP-AC-HD and they cost a bomb... I don’t want to mess anything up...

I have those solid square LED panels in my office. The light and colour consistency is really good... Will show you later on...

Would never use them at home...

I’d love one sticking out and floating on a main pillar downstairs. Maybe in the kitchen / dining?

As much as I love the idea, it’s a recipe for disaster. I can imagine people walking into it every so often or nudging it...

Maybe a high placement?
