Christmas will be done here... maybe in the annex...

My guys will take a short break... maybe a week lol...

It’s still another year left guys... I haven’t been posting much as a lot hasn’t been happening...

At least my upstairs server room has been made lol...

And to be honest, it’s not that bad going through all of this; the house is big enough to accommodate cooking, dining and sleeping elsewhere... 👍🏻💯

Still fascinated by all of this. I sometimes wonder though it it'd have been simpler and cheaper to just bulldoze the old house and start from scratch!

Beovirus victim, it's gotten to be too much to list!

I think installing a private 5G mobile phone tower in their cloakroom cupboard might have been easier Laughing

Looks like the ceiling was put up by Medusa! Smile Nice progress, looking good.

We almost had a lift/elevator put in recently. We had places picked out to do it but every one had not insurmountable difficulties associated with it, but ones that would more than double the price. We were going to us a US firm, Stiltz Lifts, which require no room above or below the top floor/ground floor as they are side driven. It looks like you're going with a more traditional piston type with mechanical space below and above?

Man, when you're finally finished with this what are you going to do for a hobby? Or will you be too burned out to do anything?

Impressive as always Kiran.

How many miles of caballing do think you have used in this project?

Did you every work out what cameras and NVR you were planning on using to e compatible with the BLGW, know you brought this up in an earlier thread in 2017?

I’m glad you guys are still following the thread...

I don’t know what I’ll do after this... I’ll be very bored lol...

I would say I’ve stuck in around 4 kilometres of Cat6A, Cat7A and fibre...

Every single lighting circuit has been redone back to Lutron lighting panels and we’ve used sh** loads of the grey twin and earth... around 2km

There’s about 1km of speaker wire to all ceiling speakers...

Around 1km of coax...

Around 1km of Lutron keypads bus cable...

Around 2km of blinds/shades cable...

And we still going...

As much as I want to tell you about the cameras and NVR, I won’t be mentioning this.

It works alongside my alarm system...

No space below.

There’s a track that goes all the way up on the back wall...

And I think there are some mechanical workings at the top?...

Will just have to wait and see...

Great to see all the new photos Kiran, your project is progressing nicely. I noticed your underfloor heating system and was curious as to what you chose? I've just fitted a Nu-Heat wet system throughout and it looks like you chose the electric route. I am Interested to know the system you finally decided upon and what swayed you between the two system types? Simon.

B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.
11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

Downstairs is water underfloor heating.

Upstairs is electric and the mats are from Elektra 160w/m2. I’m using Heatmiser Neo Stat E thermostats alongside...

I think I have the same system downstairs?...

Hi Kiran,

I am following your renovation with much interest for over a year now and I am very happy that you share the progress with us.

I do not want to encourage another change of the new stairs, but... ;)

Looking at the photos I wondered whether the space under the beam is sufficient to pass underneath without knocking your head. Have you considered realising the lower part as a circular staircase that, looking from the top, makes a left turn of 180° or maybe 135°, so one would not have to pass under the beam? Admittedly this would move the lower landing from the window side to the hallway side.

That was my idea for using the available footprint for a most comfortable ascent.

There is plenty of space between people’s heads and the beam when initially climbing the new stairs.

I will take a photo and show you 👍🏻💯

As much as I love the BL3500s placed around the house to show the time and wake people up lol, I love the look of the Edge floating off the wall...

I will find a place or 2 for these... I can see the new bronze one bouncing nicely in some of the grey rooms... And being the modern beauty, all it needs is power...

Different shades of grey have been used quite a lot in the house...

The moving stairs remind me to a place called Hogwarts ...

By the way: How do I access your home via Floo Network, as all real chimneys are gone? Huh?

May your project not be affected by to much of "ctrl+Z".

There is only 1 chimney left and that’s in my room...

We have created many new places of ventilation...

I think it’s coming along very well...

Where did you get the distribution boxes? Do you have part numbers? They are a great addition to your system!
