Thanks. To be fair, we shouldn't need to download the product sheet - normally the options are listed in the specs on the B&O website for each product.
An alternative colour such as infantry green could be interesting.

To make it look different from a Beovision 8....
A mighty fine BeoVision.
Much more 'B&O feeling', than I had expected.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Just had the opportunity to see this product in Selfridges today.
A disappointing design at a ridiculous price point, the adjoining stand had the LG wallpaper TV, already reduced by £1100 and the LG signature series
The B&O product looked dated.
The sony A1 is more of a revelation.
I can well see why Lee has called it a day, B&O and its glory days are over, the B&O facebook page, largely full of disgruntled purchasers;shareholders however will be happy now that the lossmaking TV operation has been outsourced to LG It does not even look as though ay special quality is there either to justify this design disaster-
You make a good point regarding our beloved STB Brackets et al, also since apparently the Beovision Eclipse is not available with a table stand like the Avant.
So what solutions are there for people who want to connect e.g. an Apple TV or a PS4 / Xbox to the Eclipse in a way that looks ok?
I guess the next logical step for me would be to go and talk to my dealer :-)

Hello 2007!!
Ban boring signatures!
For me this TV is low-point for B&O. As someone mentioned on facebook, this not designed it is just B&O soundbar slapped on LG TV.
What truly shocked me was when I saw the LG operation system on this TV. When I buy a Bang Olufsen TV, I want a Bang Olufsen experience, not LG experience with B&O sound bar.
Pricing doesn't make sense as mentioned above.
Also there is no continous design language among new products. BL50 doesn't go well with Eclipse at all.
I don't know, I am really disappointed:(

I must admit, that's a worry. Moving away from this forum (where most people have a special interest in B&O), regular users are much more vocal and more negative. The opinion of the Eclipse via the Facebook page is much more negative. Look at the comments under the release.
what were your expectations, out of interest.....
with software and smart stuff much more prominent these days, the combination of an LG panel, UI and video processing + a Beosound enabled sounder does not make a bad product, probably a pretty good one. Whether the extra's are worth the premium is again a personal value judgment.
The design is subjective of course, it was much better than the pictures suggested.
I'm not sure how much more B&O feeling we are ever likely to get - i.e some combination of LG and B&O feeling and experience wise.
That's why I said that I picked an Avant-NG over the Eclipse although I saw the picture of the Eclipse a month ago.
I want a B&O experience and I think the Avant-NG will be the last TV that will reflect the true experience.

A 'slightly' cheaper £8,000 sound bar!
B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

From a design perspective, I would have preferred to see a design that showcases the super slim technology that is OLED, which is what the designs from LG offer. I fail to see how anyone can be 'impressed' with this design, complete with ugly sound bar, making the total TV package look huge and ungainly
Also in materials where is the quality? it doesn't look high end to me.
A better solution would have been a plug in LG screen into a base that contained a stylish speaker- even that would still make it smaller than this offering with the black strip underneath the speaker itself
This product has been years in the 'design stage' I think most most would have come up with a design on the back of a cigarette packet in a few minutes
Still having sold out of TV manufacture it wont matter to B&O if it looks ugly with an LG interface and no curtains- at least when they sell a few units they wont lose money- what a disaster

I wish I was faced with a similar decision but there's no way I am ever buying an edge lit tv again now that OLED is on the market, regardless of brand. If it was full zone backlit (like the Sony Z9 for example with 650) that's a different consideration altogether and chances are I would have gone the Avant route as I also like the design, particularly the movement on a table stand.

You are right on the button here, and as OLED or QLED gets cheaper I doubt that LCD will last I the AV arena

The current QLEDs is also just a LCD type display using quantum dot type backlighting.
There is another type of QLED which is more like OLED. It may premiere around the year 2020, but then I assume it will take further years on for it to become cheap.

Totally agree with your assessment. I would even say that even Z9 will be lower preference for me versus the OLED. Edge Lit LCD TV are really no choice when compared to OLED and even full back lit (Z9 / Avant 85) are really not my preference. I find LED TVs to be too bright and nothing will make me buy one. I am still living with my 1080P Plasma (BV9) and despite many temptations to get 4K TV, I stayed away until HDR became a more common feature. Until I had seen the OLED, I was okay with LED 4K +HDR but after seeing OLED, I am absolutely done with LED.
Coming back to Eclipse, seems like we will have to wait for dust to settle. My prediction will be that if B&O does not move enough sets, they may have to revisit the value proposition on these. I am sure that at a different price point (speaking personally for myself), the objections against the Eclipse will be less important than the benefits of continuing the B&O line up to assimilate various existing equipment.
One question what is the picture quality like??? does it look like your watching an lg tv with an upgraded sound quality??
Beoplay A2
There will be no difference in the picture quality versus LG OLED. Same Panel and same video processing.
Michael: This confirms it: HDMI IN 1 & 3*The High Definition Multimedia Interface allows you to connect many different sources, such as set-top boxes, multimedia players, Blu-ray players, or a PC. To operate non-Bang & Olufsen products with your Bang & Olufsen remote control and for optimum sound quality it is recommended to connect products to the HDMI sockets on the SoundCenter.*HDMI 2 reserved for SoundCenter communication. I think the SoundCentre only uses HDMI2 and LAN/CTRL (Ethernet) on the LG TV to communicate with each other. Why HDMI 2 you might ask. Well, it is because it is the only HDMI ARC port on the LG. It stands for Audio Return Channel so the TV feeds the sound data to the SoundCentre via the same HDMI cable that can send video/audio/data to the TV - that is how sound from the LG internal HDMI-ports and WebOS apps is sent to Powerlink/Wisa/SoundCentre internal speakers. I am a bit worried that there is no information about Dolby TrueHD, DD+ or Atmos for example. The LG E7 supports it but maybe the SoundCentre processor does not..

Interesting. But the Sound Processor does not have an HDMI Out to the TV so they must use some internal wiring (and I'd say HDMI 2 is rewired internally to the bar since the manual does not mention you should connect the SP to the TV via that port).
So the Sound Processor is basically a source for the TV, and they made it so that the remote can also command the screen (via HDMI-CEC probably).
I will visit my dealer to see how the Screen is connected. But at this point, I'm also interested in seeing a stand-alone "Beosystem 5", especially since it appears that the UI is LG branded. Big turn off and bad surprise if that's confirmed.
As for the supported audio codecs, this page does mention DD+ (unless they screwed it up again - you know what I mean :) ) but no HD formats are in there.
svinaik:My prediction will be that if B&O does not move enough sets, they may have to revisit the value proposition on these.
I agree. It will be interesting to see the sales figures for the Eclipse. I certainly don't think it will be a disaster but I am not convinced it will be a hot seller by any means, primarily because price + product just don't add up. There will of course be people who may stretch to £10,000 for a revised BV6/BV7 hybrid but I suspect many more will be far more interested in Sony's A1 offering. You can only ask for a premium with a premium product, and this isn't it. I am not sure where this leaves me but too early to know for sure until I see a demo. I wonder if OLED panels will come to the other models? That might be interesting.
Not that I'm surprised, but B&O couldn't get away from the ugly Netflix / Amazon dedicated buttons on the BeoRemote One. Really takes away from the svelte design and sophistication of the look of the remote.
On the look of the Eclipse, it really does look a helluva lot better than the mockups. But since this is truly rebadged and slightly redesigned LG makes the value proposition questionable.
The main differentiator for me from all I have read is the sound, but that begs the question, is the sound really worth the price markup? Would one just want to purchase an LG OLED TV and separate Beolabs?
This television could be a watershed decision moment for B&O. With this television B&O is using the latest and greatest tech to address the naysayers. If this TV doesn't sell as much as B&O have hoped it would, I hope the company will exit the TV business, and go into the surround / video processing business with beosystems. I continue to believe that beosystems will sell WAY MORE than B&O badged TVs.
Just imagine, a Beosystem with all of B&O's sound processing capabilities, video processing capabilities, and jam in Beolink Gateway functionality, for an all in one small-box solution for your home or apartment? Come on. Who wouldn't buy that? Bring your own screen and speakers, and smart home devices.

This is confirmed. UI is completely the same as on any 500$ supermarket TV, which makes me mad.

But on Amazon the LG W7 65" is half the price of B&O.
I also find the design of the LG much easier on the eyes. Now Wouldn't it make much more sense to buy an LG + a pair of BL 20s for example ?

KMA:These are surely the kinds of questions many of us are asking ourselves now. In the W7, the soundbar also has some motorised magic (the top firing Atmos speakers pop up from the bar). Also, Sony A1 has dropped in price: €3.690 for 55" and €4.990 for 65"

Exactly KMA. I have always loved the W7 since release and would be very happy with that and the associated speaker on my wall. I need a TV soon so at the end of the day I'll end up with one of these. My instincts tell me I might not end up with the Eclipse at this price. Just a complete waste of money really. We will see.
A new launch video is availabe on the facebook page. Worth a view, mind you the comments were more interesting than the presentation. Glad Im not working for their social media department at the moment.
I will go have a look over the weekend regardless. Some very good comments in this thread. From a pure design perspective I do like the sony a1 but unfortunately had to pass as it has a table profile too deep for my tv cabinet and it looks off wall mounted.
There has a been a lot of price talk and for me personally, for the Eclipse as is, I think I would be willing to pay around 5k ish for the base without stand etc. 1.5k more that the LG for a better sound set up but thats about it. At the end of the day if it does not sell well and or there are lot of problems they will have to revisit price or at least run campaign.
I believe in march this year they did the same for the BV 14 and Avant NG, due to the software issues, it was a 1000 off for awhile....
The ZD9 is a pretty damn good TV - i'll say it again, when i spent some time doing a side by side the LG E6 (admittedly last years OLED, but brightness aside not much has changed), the ZD9 had appreciably better upscaling than the LG E6 when watching broadcast HD.
But yes, LEDs are too bright for some, i have some sympathy, and it would seem a bit odd not to get an OLED if you need a new screen.
