Roger:Quick update from Struer: They are confident all remaining issues will be solved by the next sw update - expected released within 2 weeks.
1.15.17882.117133709 just came out. I'm not sure what the changes are.
Currently not available on my Essence and A9...

mbee: Currently not available on my Essence and A9...
Only on BS1 and M5 as of now.
Livingroom: BL3, BL11, BV11-46 Kitchen: Beosound 1 GVA, Beocom 2 Bathroom: M3 Homeoffice: M3, Beocom 2 Library: Beosound Emerge, Beocom 6000 Bedroom: M5, Essence remote Travel: Beoplay E8 2.0, Beoplay EQ, Beoplay Earset
My M5 is on 1.15.17882.117133709 since Thursday, smooth operation, no drop-outs yet. Some lag on Deezer HiFi, but I guess that's my slow internet more than Beo-firmware
Still waiting for the major sw upgrade, but the wireless speakers (incl Essence mk2) is now working without any issues at all - they incremental fixes lately must have done something right. Great work by the sw team!
Roger
Lucky you.
My A9Mk2 now randomly stops Deezer playback and sits silent, just too tired with B&O issues honestly. Even the B&O app coming frequently to halt mode... ...close, reopen and hope it works next time.
Not saying, that this could cause trouble in a NL environment, but it surely shows how complicated things have become nowadays....
....at least when you want to mix devices from different vendors - each having ‘their way’ of doing things.

Good to know. I'm still hoping for an A6 update arriving before Feb. That's when the warranty runs out. Fingers crossed.
Millemissen:Not saying, that this could cause trouble in a NL environment...
Well, I think you might be right. Too bad I can't turn disable Google Cast to test it (there is no "Turn Google Cast off" controls within B&O app or I might be overlooking it).
Today's log btw says: "Google cast doesn't start after update, disable google cast". Well, I did not update the A9 recently but still I'm suspicious it might indicate something linked to Cast issues as you said... Let's see.
To B&Os credit I think the issues are finally solved. My BeoSound 1 & 2 are working great.

It seems that Google has admitted that they have to work on the Chromecast devices to eliminate these troubles.

Just hoping that these changes/fixed will be considered for the Cast part of the B&O devices as well - as far as/if these are affected from the problems.
Not being able to use Chromecast on my Essence box at the moment (current public sw version, with a momentary disabled Chromecast version: 1.25.91810) is a pia.........sometimes.

Any news on the A6 update?
AnalogPlanet:Too bad I can't turn disable Google Cast to test
I did so with my Essences, A6 and BS35. Since then no dropouts or any problems at all.

Quick update from Struer:
More than 2 weeks have passed now!
Any news?
@MM:
B&O sw dept issued a statement on Tuesday confirming that they have managed to identify the wifi issue and fix it. Tests so far shows that the issue is solved, but they will continue with more extensive test cycles to rule out as many side effects as possible (finally?). The release is said to be "in the next weeks" or as soon as possible - if there are no side effects.
Any word on whether Google Chromecast built-in will work in this new release?
So last sign from B&O was on January 30th. Still no firmware update. Since I am a Tidal user and not a Spotify user, this has effectively crippled my 2 A6's and my A9 ... Really hard pressed to sell them all and select Bluesound products going forward ...
I bought a bluesound node II
No wifi dropouts no app problems no nas problems
E 549,00 Euro's Great audio quality
Hiort:I’m on the beta track and received beta 1.16.19505 for my A6 and 1.16.19506 for my M5 and BS1. That reinstated Cromecast on the A6. I do not use Chromcast regularly but the times I tried it worked with no problems. Have a group including all my devices. Experience no dropouts.

Experience no dropouts.
Thanks Hiort for informing.
If you're experiencing any issues would you keep us informed, please?
I got a firmware rollback by Beocare end of December to enable Chromecast again for my A6. So far everything works flawlessly for my 4 speakers GCC Multiroom. So, being wary, I disabled the automatic firmware update for my B&O speakers.
GCC I definitely need because sadly it's the only way for streaming Qobuz to B&O speakers.
Thanks in advance.

I will
How does one enter the beta testing group?
Hiort:Experience no dropouts.
Thanks Hiort for keeping us informed :)
So we will wait for things to come.

‘within two weeks’ - ‘in the next weeks’....hmmmm!
Long gone now!
Anyway, as long as they are getting things right, it’s ok....I guess.
My Essence (MK2) is still on 1.15 .17881
(By the way - now as before - with no issues apart from the missing Cast support)
Hopefully the requirements for their new s/w engineers includes a thorough knowledge of and understanding of regression testing methodology.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
Jeff:Hopefully the requirements for their new s/w engineers includes a thorough knowledge of and understanding of regression testing methodology. Jeff Beovirus victim, it's gotten to be too much to list!

Present: BL90, Core, BL6000, CD7000, Beogram 7000, Essence Remote.
Past: BL1, BL2, BL8000, BS9000, BL5, BC2, BS5, BV5, BV4-50, Beosystem 3, BL3, DVD1, Beoremote 4, Moment.
Some news as of Feb 28th and new SW releases:
- Beoplay A6, Beoplay A9 (2nd gen.), BeoSound Essence (2nd gen.), BeoSound 35: v.1.16.20033
- Beoplay M5, BeoSound 1, BeoSound 2: v.1.16.19506
- BeoSound Core: v. 1.1.19507
- Beoplay M3: v.1.1.19508
These software versions fix/improve the following issues:
- WiFi connectivity issues are now fixed
- Chromecast built-in functionality is now restored (was affecting only Beoplay A6 and Beoplay A9)
- Essence Remote robustness is restored
- Fixing issues related to TuneIn radio
- Solve some of the lately experienced multiroom issues (we still know that there are some more open multiroom issues, that will be addressed in next following software releases)
- Improved First Time Setup experience, with the latest Bang & Olufsen App
- The Essence Remote can now be used also over IR (with BeoSound Essence Box) and behave the same way as when used over Bluetooth (i.e. it can also JOIN)
On a side note:
Hooked up a Google Home Mini (approx. $50) in the same room as the BeoSound 2, told the app that Spotify is my preferred music provider and that the Mini should play any music through the BS2 (and not the tiny Mini's speaker). Now the Mini will talk back when asked "smart speaker" questions regarding calendar, weather, news etc - and I can just say "Hey Google", as I enter the room, followed by "play some Bruce Springsteen" - and the BS2 comes to life and plays. No phone, no app. You can even use a single Mini to control all the wireless (chromecast) B&O speakers by saying "play Diana Krall on chromecast your-device-name".
Super easy to say "Hey Google, wake me up with music at 7 am". Google will then ask for type of music, and you can use e.g. Spotify or TuneIn, given playlists etc.
Suddenly my BS2 is more advanced than the HomePod

Thanks Roger ;-)
As of today......my Essence (MK2) has not yet updated - maybe tonight then ;-)
Question: Cast now restored/affected only A6 and A9?
Why are only A6/9 mentioned - my Essence hasn’t had Cast support for a while too.
Question: ‘Essence Remote can now be used......’?
Any more informations on this - user cases/exactly what is new (apart from joining)?
BeoVision Eclipse 55”, Beolab 18s, Beolab 19s, Beosound 1, Beoplay P2, H3, BeoRemote One IR, BeoRemote One BT, Beoplay S8, Beosound Essence MkII, BeoTime
The Essence remote was fixed, but was un-fixed due to the roll-back of the SW. The roll-back quick fix had some side effects.
The wifi and cast issues (ie leaving the products useless) only affected the A6 and A9, the other wireless speakers "just" suffered from instability/drop-outs
Hopefully this post goes through - I've put on the moderator's watch list (by request from Struer, I guess)
BS Moment, BS Core, BG 4002, BC 4500, BS1, BL18, BL19, BL8000 + RCV1, A6, M5, M3, A1, P6 (tks Botty), H5, TR1

My Essence and also my M3 were now updated - I did it manually....could not wait ;-)
Cast is back on the Essence - what has changed by the M3, I don’t know (yet).
