Well Søren,
According to your schedule you should have your goodies by now. You can stop running in circle now…. if you ever did. Ha!
Can’t wait to see the magic you will create when you get your parts.
The Beolit is the icing on the cake. Enjoy!!!
leosgonewild:Getting a woman into the nest that demanded some interior changes and cable hiding was not bad at all Cables from soundsheavenly.
Awesome results indeed….. very clean and modern.
Brilliant touch with the proper glass of red wine. Salute!

Yes, I know what you mean. The thing about the numbering of the Beo products back then, was that when they made an upgraded version, it had to be called something with a "2" number - to tell that it was the second version. (It was before mk l, mk ll etc.).
So they skipped the xxx1 numbering, and the upgrades were called xxx2, or xxx3 etc. But they were not quite consistent... Remember the second version of Beomaster 2400 was 2400-2. But the second version of the Beogram 2400 was 2402... And - hey - where was the Beogram 2403? It was called 2404..!Confused..?Then Again - there were a few "1"s... The Beomaster 901 was not just an upgraded version of the BM 900 - but a quite new receiver that did not have much in common with the 900. And the Beomaster 1201 was the FM-only version of the BM 1200...

You wont believe this, I picked up my son in the airport, and no suitcase, according to Aero Mexico it was left behind in LA, and they would deliver it today Saturday, All the parts for the BM/BL 5000 are in the suitcase, the Beolit 505 my son had in his carry on, I have been worrying since yesterday, told myself it was bound to happen, Burke's law and so on. I have been awake since 6 AM and yes just running around doing nothing. 10:45 AM they called from Aero Mexico, to confirm our address and asking when they could deliver the suitcase, so now it is on the way. I can now start working normally again. I will update the thread when I have the parts unpacked and in my hands.

Søren,
You are right, I don’t believe this. It is like being struck by lightning twice and in exactly the same spot. What are the odds of that?
Had it been me, I would have been up at 6:00AM too. Hopefully Aero Mexico will deliver it soon!
At least it isn’t lost and….. yes AND your son carried the Beolit on the plane. I’ll bet the folks in customs had a fit with that!
Let us know when you get your suitcase!
More to come.
Dennis,
Very handsome indeed.
I have a Beocord 8004 and 9000….. love them both! (Very similar to your 8002.)
Enjoy!
Question is, if it really is a BeoCord 8002...
Dennis: Question is, if it really is a BeoCord 8002...
I saw no reason to “rain on your parade,” especially with such a handsome unit, however the black buttons are incorrect…… they should be aluminum colour.
It is YOUR unit, what do YOU think it is? Now you have be curious!
Next object.

Denis - I have an identical pair of P45 speakers only mine are with a teak surround. I use them as a spare set and are still working brilliantly.

Dave Farr:I haven't seen many Type V's available and have never heard them. How do they sound? Dave.
They sound surprisingly good. No stunning base but with a clear and pleasant sound, especially if you are directly in front of them. Compared with Beovox 500, this is HiFi. The cabinets looks like World War III but that's just fun to deal with. Cables are spliced multiple times - I don't know if it is the right phase and the "crossovers" consists of an overwhelming number of components.
Maybe I have taken water over my head...
tamtapir:Maybe I have taken water over my head...
Be careful when you go in there, lots of pics and cross check all the caps against the complicated drawings, if changing the spliced cables, use oxygen free cables left twisted for left channel and right twisted for right channel. Good luck with it. And the preamp for the BG 1000 looks like new, will come in right after my BM/BL project. Thanks ***

I'm glad you understood the irony of my posting, Soren. There is hardly any parts of these boxes and at the same time, thank you very much for the for sure vital knowledge of the cables. Of course I'll use right and left cable. It is just as important as putting the shoes on the right feet.
I, as many others, follow your threads about the 5000 system with great interest. You inspire me to one day lift the lid to my own devices, although they still sounds and looks really good.
Keep your good job up and thank you!
Love those complex filters!
Also make sure that on re-assembly, all cables are straight and of exactly the same length so the signals meet no resistance and reach both speakers at the same time!
I wish you luck oh brave one.
Very nice speakers, quite rare as well. Would like to hear a pair myself!
Ben

Don't know if I'm going to venture that.

Good sounding as well as relatively easy to place.
Finally it has arrived. The holy graal of recordplayers.
Bo,
The Holy Grail of turntables indeed! And with tools no less, congratulations!
I KNOW you are going to love it.
Well I did it again, about a week ago I bid on a Beocord 1200 R to R, low bid. I just came home after 2 days work in Xalapa, Mexico and checking in I saw it, I was the only bidder, not much interest in these amazing devices over here. I really didnt want it, but on the other hand USD 69.00 is a find if it works, if not maybe good for parts. It shows 50Hz version but I wonder, it is in the US, if it is 50 Hz I will have to fire up my old Lathe.
When bidding on it, I was looking for a BG 4002 or 4. I just couldnt let it pass without at least a bid, it could get into wrong hands, and well the Virus lives. Explanation to the FS will be that I am getting to know my new laptop, and the laptop did something wrong.
Søren Mexico: Explanation to the FS will be that I am getting to know my new laptop, and the laptop did something wrong.

Good luck with that one. If it works though...I might try that one. :)

Thats as good a reason in its self
