Ricardo,
Can we have the four-digit type number and (if available) the build series number of that Beogram 1000 ?

Yes you can Martin !
I scanned thru my photos and realized the data label was missing so i went thru the shipping box and lo and behold it was sat at the bottom of the box.
So why do you ask ?
As yours is a 1000 VF type it should have a preamp build in, but it doesnt, same with mine also VF and US but no preamp, Tamtapir from Sweden gave me one, I will restore and attach it
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.
Ricardo:So why do you ask ?
I admit to being a bit more than mildly curious myself. THIS should prove interesting!

There ar some differences in the types and series, old ones as mine has a different motor, where as Richards has a motor like in the early 12XX, there is also differences in the under platters as different sizes of belt exist
My US BG 1000

I think Soren may have answered the question already.. Perhaps mine was removed at some point but my scanning of the photos doesnt show any evidence that there was ever one installed to begin with. ie no open screw holes etc. Could be that B&O mixed a series just for the U.S. market. Afterall mine is a 60 hz model.
Martin may know more.
Richards has the original small PCB in the sound track plint, one just take the small PCB out and plug the preamp PCB in there and ready to go.
My BG didnt have the small PCB but the connections was soldered in
I can see now how it would have been mounted soren, but again mine looks "virgin". I really dont think there was ever one installed on mine.
but i could be wrong and i often am. Just ask all my ex's.
My son has a BG 1000 VF 50 Hz, Martin repaired it and I told Martin to keep the preamp, he may still have it if you are interested

Of course, it's still here.
I asked because I never saw a 60Hz Beogram 1000 like this before and I wondered if certain build series were dedicatedfor specific territories. The ceramic resistor is a mystery. I never saw it before. It's not mentioned in any of my notes and it's not in theschematics or manuals either. I doubt it's original. The one you fitted is obviously a modern component, do you still have the original resistor. If this was a factory built US model, it should also have a 60Hz strobe pattern on the platter.

Here is mine with the older motor and no resistor

I wonder if it is just a half-witted attempt by someone to make a 50 Hz motor run slower at 60 Hz - obviously failing and then giving up the project?

Funny you should say that :-)

Yes the platter says 60hz on it and here is the original resistor pulled from the unit.

Today I picked up two packages that should contain some items I bought Friday last week.
Let's start with the one on the right with a Beo4 for size comparison.
Hmm... what can it be...
A Beo4 with navigation button!
Been wanting one of these for quite a few months now to use in the living room. The main system consists of a BeoCenter 2300, a pair of Penta MK3s, a 50" Sony Bravia and a Lintronic box. It's difficult to get the old Beo4 working properly with the Sony as I had to use the same buttons for changing program as for navigating in the menus. There are separate buttons on the remote control that comes with the TV for that.
But there was a package more.
Hmm... It has wires...
A B&O Rondtraler!
While I was writing with the seller of the Beo4, something familiar looking suddenly popped up on the front page of the DBA (an eBay-owned company) app. The listing had only just gone online, and I think the deal was closed and the listing gone again in less than one hour.
I haven't had it connected to anything yet, but it was described as in working order. Cosmetically I think it's in very good condition taking into account that it's more than 50 years old, so I'm very pleased.
/Dennis
Congratulation for your Rondstraler!
I find myself the proud owner of a new (new to me) Beomaster 1600 and Beomaster 2400. My good friend in California sent them to me, in spite of the fact that I already have a virtually flawless Beomaster 2400.2. Why? He wanted to.
We all need projects and in the finest tradition of Søren de Mexico I accepted the challenge. What do I hope to accomplish? Who knows but it has been interesting so far.
My only real goal is to “save” these Beomasters and to do no harm. I do have some reason to believe that I can do some good, but if not, I know, down the road, Benny can.
Another picture of the BM 1600.
One more of the 1600.
Last, but not least, the BM 2400.
OK, just one more of the BM 1600.
Where is the glass face ?
Hi Richard,
The glass fascia plate came loose during shipment, but was not damaged and in reasonably good shape. I failed to include a picture of it.
So here it is, as arrived.
Ricardo: Where is the glass face ?
Ooops…. Sorry Richard.
When will I ever learn NOT to do anything in the morning before having my AM coffee? I managed to post the wrong picture.
Here is the correct one. “To err is human, to forgive divine.”
Got myself a Beolit 800 in good shape.

Yes, I really enjoy it.
Now, time for some wine tasting with this B&O Beotaster!
As I sold my old BG 2404 and an RX I just had to buy this one very cheap, pics from the bay
Latest addition is an A9 Mk2
I have been thinking about whether i should go for the 35 or an essence to use with my (unused) BL3s or a moment, so i went with something else lol, the A9
There was a really good sale on at Myer and they had a white one on display , but i didn't want the blond wood legs and didn't want to fork out the savings on the sale on a new pair, so I went with black and can always change the cover later.
To me the A9 is really good NL product to use with multiroom and it has an essence built in.
Can't wait to see what will be released with a future television and if i buy a second TV then i can use the A9 with it. It is such an iconic design, just like the A8.
I didn't go with the essence because of the power cords, there would be 3 and then 2 PL cables if i connected my BL3s.
How much was the A9 MK2 at Myer?
I PM you Rob
Cheers
Michael.
Just bought this one, only bidder. I have had more people asking me for BGs so I buy what I can get cheap and looking more or less OK, this one will arrive to McAllen TX on April 20, I have more pieces to pick up there, so end of April I will go there (check this Ricardo )
Hi Søren,
Looks great, another good find.
My latest addi(c)tions, Beogram 1500 and Beovoxes 901.
An humble but charming little system from the late 60's early 70's, here in oak finish.
Marc
Wow, looks like you have a great collection, any chance of more pictures please
