Just returned from Västerås with a white Beocenter 9000 in excellent shape and not two but four Carlsson Sonab OM-5 type II, also in white.

Hey Tamtapir!

Your Saab can not stay still ;-) Mooving, mooving  ...

And bringing you lot the nice stuff to your home...

Nice...

I would have such a BC9000 too ... One day it will come ...

I'm sure you will get one someday. Here in Sweden they are rather common and for this batch I payd 400 sek or about 40 euro.

Yesterday I also picked up my Beomaster 3000-2 witch I recaped and made a service at. I use a friend for a "second opinion" after my work is finished but he couldnt find any problems with my work. I will use the 3000-2 the nearest days and maybe stress it a bit. I think its a more beautiful piece than my black BM 40000

After a stable auction ending on Tradera last night I had the highest bid on a Beomaster 3000 as well as a couple of Beovox 2200. The Beomaster looks very good, sounded like it should when testing over the radio and may be joined to the already existing Beomaster 4000 on the shelf until further notice.  I picked up the gears in Stockholm today and then got even a pair of headphones that glimpsed on the pictures.

The speakers that came with the receiver has a really nice format, they sounds also as you might expect but has some wounds in the form of hack and – worse – an old water damage on one topside. Fronts were surprisingly fast with fittings worthy of a wooden boat and have both the golden B&O-marks left on the fronts.
When I read about the speakers at Beoworld and Beocentral none of the pages mention that these speakers were able to get in oak. "Only" Rosewood or teak was available but these are both lined with Oak veneer.

The speakers are so easy to style and sounds so nice that I immediately will take them into claims while the Beomaster, the reason for the purchase, must wait a little further for an electric review.

This one is now refurbished with cap- and service kit. Looking good, running good.

Thank you, Sören. I Think I will "freak out" when I get started with the Beomaster 8000 Sonovar´s thread are scaring me a bit. I should have brought it to Denmark when I visited Martin. Maybe I take one more trip in my SAAB when the Beogram 8000 are completed - and bring the Beomaster as well to Martin.

I´m letting a guy in Southern Sweden (Tomelilla) refurbish the Beovox 150 bass drivers. He called me yesterday and said that one of the four was out of rescue but he managed to find Another driver!

To be continued....

I was sure i had seen one in the back of your Saab... but it was in Denis's car.

I am getting confused with all these continental looters and pillagers.

When I move over to France I will have my van and Denmark is only up the road.  :-)

No, I have no 4400. Yet. There is a set of an BM 4400, an BC 4002 and a pair of BV 80.2 for sale right now in range for my SAAB but the price is to high. The owner want 4900 SEK (~530 eur) and I think it is too much.

So, you will vaccum clean the the European continent then? Well, maybe we will meet somewere...

A bit on the high side, over here (US) I would presume USD 5-600.

I am looking for a BG 4000, but will probably have to find it in DK, and bring it as carry on next time I am in DK.

You wrote BC 4002 ? is it BG 4002

Today the bass- and the sub bass drivers arrived from Otto in Tomelilla. Otto has done a great job!

The first pair are now fitted in one of the BV 150 cabinettes, then the sun was too much so I went outon the grass for a Harboe Guldöl. Will take care of the other BV later.

By all means get one, it's a kind of final buy, the ultimate B&O turntable. You don't know until you've seen and used one.  You won't regret it: anything else - yes even the 4002/4 series - leaves much to be desired.

So you were the guy who got this nice piece. Congratulation!

I watched this auction and even consider to bid but then suddenly my rational part of brain told me: hey, you have already 2 of them! Smile

Have a fun with it, I am sure you will enjoy it.

NB! epoxy for the magnets ;)

Not B&O I know, but I have grown fond of Philips early CD players. This is the famous CD100.

B&O used this as a base for the CDX, along with the circuits of the CD104, and a CDM1 transport.

This one has a CDM0 which B&O never used. The sound is the same as that of the CDX of course, the circuits being the same exactly.

Hi valve,

is there any chance to get a copy of "User / Owner Manual" of the Stereo Amplifier 608?

I have an original schematic but missing the "user" one...

I would be grateful and I can of course provide some other interesting manuals for you if you are looking for some...

Ok.

I use it through Beomaster 4000, since my Beomaster 8000 does not function that it should. To the BM 4000 I have connected two Beovox MS 150 with newly re-foamed bass drivers.

The speakers sounds VERY good from all sources I examined so far.

The record player are connected to the receiver with a 5-pin DIN-cable and unfortunately there is a loud humming sound, from when the pickup landed on the vinyl record until the record player shuts down. The humming becomes HIGHER when I put my hand on the chassis on record deck and is CHANGED when I simultaneous put my other hand on the amplifier. The devices are socketed to same mains contact. Since there is no earth connection, both on the record deck nor on the amplifier, I wonder if and how I can make an earth connection or if I should search for any other solution.

Hi Tamtapir,

the same problem I had with my BG8002. On my Beogram the problem was the bad soldering in the Phono connection box.

But if you have had yours repaired by Martin, I presume it will be something other. Did you try other cable?

If the cable is OK, it must happened in transportation, I can not imagin, he didn't noticed it.

Gratulation on BG8000!

The ground should be in the 5 pin din plug metal housing, check with ohm meter housing plug to chassis on both BG ang BM

The cause of the humming will most likely be the cable.
You cannot use a standard (tapedeck-) cable, you'll need a cable
with separate signal grounds (around each signal lead) and chassis ground (around both signal leads).

Great to see that it made the trip to you in one piece.  Yes - thumbs up

Ok fellows. Currently eating a pitful excuse for a breakfast at McDonalds while reading your answers, I'll have to beg for a little more time. Tonight I will unscrew two pins in my PH-cable and make a new affort. Of course you all are right, it should be the cheap 5-pin cable I used that caused the humming.

I'll be back with a new report later!

I couldnt resist to go home for a quick test with a proper cable. At home I unscrewed the two outer pins on the PH-cable and then mounted it to the turntable and the reciever and the noice was gone.

I wonder why...

Ehrm...

Then I wanted to put the record deck in its position in the SC and also put the Beomaster 4000 in the empty area were the BM 8000 designed to fit. I unplugged the gears and moved them, then I plugged them in again and wanted to continue listen to the vinyl record. But when pressing play on the record deck it wouldnt turn. The arm showed up, went to the right position and lowered - as it should but the record wouldnt turn.

So. The Beogram was able to travell by DHL and the Kungliga Postverket from Copenhagen to Örebro without damage but when I moved it through the room it could not start no more.

What could have happend, any suggestions, anybody?
