I've copied my BS5 HDDs plenty of times using this:-

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B006CS1VN4/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Easy to copy to a 3.5in to a 2.5in to a caddied SDD.

Solving the SDD compatibility issue beat me until I gave up the BS5s but believe there is a Crucial SSD out there that will work.

After cloning, being a bit handy with disc partition sizing is quite useful thing to know to maximise your space. I think with Win 3SE, the system can handle 3TB max?

I use BM5 with following 1TB SSD:

Crucial MX300 CT1050MX300SSD1 1 TB Internes SSD (3D NAND, SATA, 2,5 Zoll)

I swapped the original HDD in 2017, cloned it with ‚Sharkoon Quickport XT Duo Clone HDD Dockingstation‘ and from the moment my BS5 / BM5 is much faster than before without any limitations.

Buy it at amazon; if there should be any issues, just send it back. You‘ve nothing to lose... Wink

If you have BeoConnect software (https://www.bang-olufsen.com/en/product-support/accessories/beoconnect-for-windows), you can link from your computer to the BM5.  You just connect to the BM5 as a computer over a network and file copy your music directories.

If you have Windows 10, please see this thread:  https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/18245.aspx

If you have a Mac, you can get Beoconnect here:  https://www.bang-olufsen.com/en/product-support/accessories/beoconnect-for-mac

Alternatively, you can connect a portable UBS drive and keyboard/mouse to the BM5 and boot into service mode.  At this point, you have a Windows computer, and it should automatically mount the UBS drive, then you can copy the music file directories/files to the external UBS drive. I believe you will use your TV as the monitor for the BM5 computer.  I'm guessing a bit because I have only done this with my BS5/BM5.
