Just did some rearranging of the dining area in my apartment - now it is a dedicated, listening-only area.
Currently enjoying Bad Suns' album Language & Perspective.
Beo4 'til I die!
we tend to forget there is more to design than designing.
Mark:cracking set up Evan ...
Thanks, Mark. Currently no authentic Beo in this system but I do have the BeoVox 2500 clones.
Its a simple setup with PC as source -> Yamaha Mixer -> P2201 amplifier -> JBL E80 + BV2500 clones. The noise floor is incredibly low, and the 12 extra tweeters make for some very interesting listening sessions.
Just found this one on my FB, an artist to follow, I like the voice
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.
More from Paolo Nutini
Søren,
I find your Paolo Nutini fascinating.
To begin with the lad is Scottish and his name, Paola Nutini is anything but.
The “pencil” song was decidedly in the style of New Orleans circa 1940, and this piece sound Jamaican.
There is a real story behind this fellow.

Just “remote played” the incomparable genius of “The Bay City Rollers” on the Beogram 4004. Arguably there was no other band quite like this one…… said with just a touch of a snicker.
It has been raining here for 24 hours straight and I needed something bright and sunny. Apparently it is going to rain for the next TEN days in a row. (I may just wear this record out.)

My nephew can't wait until Christmas. But he will have to I Wont be in indy to deliver the set until; the 24th. I am going to miss this 2400. Luckily i have a couple more waiting in the wings. I guess it is time to get the workbench sorted.
BeoNut since '75
Ricardo,
Sorry to hear you are parting with your 2400, I don’t think I could ever part with mine…. if I did, I’d lose the remote control feature with the Beogram 4004. You are most generous.
I see the B-52’s….. now that takes me back! Dropping to the floor in Ybor City to the beat of Rock Lobster. A decadent time that will never come again. The music was so damn loud you couldn’t talk to people…. but it was great fun and we survived.
On the other hand, that I still have hearing is nothing short of a miracle.
I am sure you are more sensible with the volume then the clubs were in Ybor City.
My latest find - a near mint copy of Mireille Mathieu Ennio Morricone Lp. French pressing gatefold with fold out insert.
The music performance itself is nothing less than outstanding. Really an incredible collaboration of two great artists at their peaks. It will remain a treasure in my collection to my dying day. Listening to it makes me want to eat spaghetti and watch westerns.
Most of the songs can be found on you tube and you can purchase the CD or digital downloads at the usual places. I recommend it highly.
.. and for Jeff and anyone else interested I found the whole show Rondevous mit Mirielle Mathieu . Enjoy
Hi Ricardo,
I have this wonderful album, purchased new….. showing my age. Love it and like you will never part with it.
playing on my Penta's last night was Dire Straits live album "On The Night" somewhat surprised how I never bought this album before.
But I'm not posting just about this particular album but live albums in general, is it just me or do you also turn the lights low and close your eyes when listening to such albums, there seems something magical about the clapping, whistling and cheering when coming through your Bang & Olufsen speakers.
Hey, today I started the morning with Sr. Replicante.
Rather minimal tech
I use mainly Spotify, so if anyone shares my taste, it is easy to use the ideas for new music :D
Beocenter-2300, Beocenter Ouverture, Beolab-2500, Beolab-8000, Beolab-Penta Mk3, Beolab-7.1, Beovision-7, Beovision-6, Remotes. And Feauture Beolab90 owner. The Speakers with the sound of smooth whipped butter made out of diamonds [L]
Nice one Peter,
Love the music of Dave Brubeck!
I am a little bit sophisticated as well, not only electronic music

Evan,
I love that you have that stunning poster in the middle to look at, and not the huge thin LED that most people put up here, there and everywhere these days.

Hey guys just found these on the bay.! Better hurry and get them before they're gone
Late night listening yesterday.
If you prefer music, that is worlds apart from the usual, mainstreamy loud'n'louder of todays charts, this might be something for you.
Bella Hardy - Songs Lost & Stolen. Which is her 2011 album.
There are some pretty nice sounding videoclips on Youtube too.
Here is one from 2015: https://youtu.be/Fbwe__3cdCA

Yesterday:
Orlando Cachaito Lopez.
He was a Cuban bassist and composer, who gained international fame after his involvement in the Buena Vistas Social Club recordings.
His music was a mix of jazz-styled improvisation and Afro-Cuban rhythms.
If you want to listen to some good double-bass playing, this is it.
Today:
This!
I wonder if someone recognizes, what that was?

Yep - too easy it seems :-(

It's only easy if you know the answer

When the answer is ready in hand, the question is by definition EASY. Since you are playing Cuban musicians, had it been Desi Arnaz I might have had a shot.
Listening to this years Xmas music haul om the "darkside" system which has been fitted with a dutch built record deck and a damn good one too.
Wrapped the nephews Beo Sunday..
Merry Christmas Ricardo,
Love the Tandberg receiver! Love the Mireille Mathieu Christmas album….. one I don’t have!

Merry Christmas to you to Jeff.
Listened some Eric Burden on my nephews 2400
Hi everyone. I've been glancing through this thread for some time and it is the most interesting reading (for me, anyway) on the net right now. Such a cross section of music from all ages, genres and on all formats. Really good to still see vinyl a firm favourite as well. Thanks everyone for making this a real 'go to' place for inspiration.
I got David Gilmour's Rattle that lock box set as a present for Christmas. Haven't tried the bluray yet but really enjoyed the cd.
Hope everyone had a good Xmas.
Graeme.
Today you have the last chance, not to see, but to listen to a german radiostation on AM. It is Deutschlandfunk on 1600 kHz. Enjoy!
Playing Bette Midler, Its the Girls on BG 5000 pizzabox MMC2, through BL5000 and M70, it does not get better
