Just back from Hawaii and I just HAD to have it; Don Ho’s 30 Greatest Hits, which I found NOS unopened since 1978. OMG, is this LP ever period and KITSCH. Hawaii-50 anyone? How about Tiny Bubbles? Quiet Village?

I was (pleasantly) surprised to find that my Hawaiian record was actually pressed in Toronto. Imagine that with me living in Canada? Who could have guessed?

The press quality is remarkable, which is to say exceptionally HIGH quality.

The perfect souvenir of a PERFECT holiday. Paradise

Been watching UK crime thriller with a comedic/bromance/romance twist called "New Blood" ... It's growing on us.

It's theme tune (according to Siri/Shazam) is this track - and this morning I listened to the whole "record" ... which I enjoyed as it matched my black mood.

Lately I've been listening to some crazy alternative stuff.. a coworker introduced me to Everything Everything and I cannot stop listening to their album Get to Heaven. The artwork is also incredible!

I've also been listening to Wild Beasts - Boy King

For those of you with ears like mine that love 80's synthesizer music try Miami Nights - Turbulence. Completely instrumental.

It reminds me what Jan Hammer produced for the TV serie "Miami Vice" at the same era.

Mireille Mathieu “Mes Premieres Chansons” Polydor 8-Track cartridge tape on my AKAI CR-81D 8-Track Recorder and Beomaster 4400. I have been having an absolute BLAST with this 8-Track Recorder now that I restored my 8-Track tape “collection.” What a dramatic black and white difference!

8-Track tapes for those unfamiliar with this medium are different from the others in that some cartridges are beyond saving, some only require new pads/pressure pads, while others scream for major cleaning….. and all need lubrication.

More differences, a good cassette is a good cassette, but an 8-Track can look flawless and sound terrible with no recourse. At the same time a battered cartridge can play beautifully. Why? I have no idea, but it’s true.

Plus the best 8-Tracks like this particular Mireille Mathieu tape is very much a peer of the cassette. Plus the 8-Track, by design is very mechanical, changing tracks four times with each cartridge….. and the change is noisy, but the track numbers change with the track making this antique “fun” to watch as well as listen to.

I guess I am just a fool for gadgets loving the Beogram 4004 being remotely controlled and I have spent more time than I’ll admit to watching the Tandberg 9000X’s tapes going round and round. Childish, I am sure, but harmless. The common thread here is: we all love our “toys.” (I do anyway!) Big Smile

Well. Today David Gahan (from Depeche Mode) found the way to my BL9 with his album Hourglass. What incredible deep and still clear sound these penguins can produce. So many different tones are used in that album.

The Eagles did a second concert after the famous Unplugged session.

Listened to it on Spotify.

Interesting - seems that it was recorded directly from the mixing console.

Especially enjoyed the second part.

Interestingly the CD is sold with another frontpic.

This is also released - but not in Germany, yet.

The release policy of the music labels is a bit weird.

I've always wondered the average age of ones collection compared to ones age, i.e. most of my albums are from my teens...

I wonder too much somedays

we tend to forget there is more to design than designing.

Playing the Apple Music to ATV Gen 4 ... output on BV8's BL3s (and in P.MUTE mode) and then through BLC ML to NL and on to Essence and its BV20s ...

It's just "FIP" (the one you get with the player)

All the others are only specialized parts of FIP radio for the web.

Hi Ricardo,

That is more than kind of you, something I will have to consider. Frankly it would mean more to me than finding it on eBay. Smile

I have the "Four-sider" double album but the selection, while larger is not as good.

The tape sound quality is superb BUT it tends to break at the change channels strip and that can be annoying. This has happened twice, so far.

Here it is - the vinyl is clean I would rate it somewhere between EX or even NM the original vinyl insert is still mostly intact and the jacket is EX -. No visable ringwear.

If you want I can mail it out this week. All i need is your address.
