Beocenter 7000 feedback

Hi just set up my very nice 1980 Beocenter 7000. Everything's as it should apart from when I use the Phono there is a terrible low hum as I increase the volume. I have the stereo on an original cabinet with the speakers either side. I have the speakers quite close to the unit as it looks very nice. Is there anything I could use to stop this? Thanks Phil

Remove the speakers from the cabinet, maybe it's a resonance problem causing a feedback loop?

Or put the Phono on a very heavy stone platter...

But more probably: the motor of the phono is going defect, running not smooth any more... touch the platter/case or directly the motor itself. Maybe the humming comes from the motor ... mechanical problem with the motor or the power supply of the motor. 50Hz power supply humming? Try a new cap parallel to the motor.

Transport screws losened ?
