Beoremote One software

Hi,

Anyone knows how to check the software version of the Beoremote One?

Press and Hold the OK button for at least 5 seconds, then while still holding the OK button pressed, press and hold the MENU button for at least 5 seconds. So you are still holding down both buttons, then press LIST and the Service Menu will be displayed.

Beware it times out quite quickly and you may need to do the above commands more than once.

Interesting. How do you update this remote or does it get updated automatically from the TV when that also gets flashed?

It does not get updated from the TV and has only ever had one update and that was to remove the OPTION menu

Thanks, After trying quite a few times, I managed to get to the menu.

My FW is 1.0.1452, I suppose it's the earlier one as I have an Option menu.

As I mentioned before there is a bug in that firmware... the LIGHT > LAMP button does send the wrong IR code, so I can't control my lamps individually.

No sure if they have fixed that in the newer software...

Keith, do you have a Beoremote One with the updated firmware??

 

Unless you were one of the very few who had the first units to be made, then the version will be 1.0.1452

... so they've been aware of this bug for months and have not worked on a fix :-( ...

How is the update (if any) done?

In the factory or could it be done by a B&O dealer/technician?

The lamp issue was resolved in May 2016 and all BeoRemote One produced after 2nd May 2016 have version 1.1.1549 software which includes the fix.

This updated version also fixes a few other issues including:-

1. Cannot programme LC1 and LC2
2. LAMP + Digit turns on light scenario with multiple lamps instead of just a single lamp
3. No lamp increase or decrease light function on BeoRemote One
4. No RECORD for BeoSound 4 A.Mem recording
5. BeoRemote One - List button reacts very slowly
6. Incorrect Dutch translation of "join" in the Netherlands

Unlike the Bluetooth version, the unit can only be updated with a board replacement part number 2775052

Yes, it's the same except the MENU button on the BT version is shown with a house shaped symbol.

To those (like me) who did not know all this was possible, I paired my BeoRemote One BT with my BeoSound Essence MkII. When I pressed the stand-by button on the remote to turn off the BeoSound, the remote’s screen said “Updating application”.

After the download completed (very slowly!), the remote rebooted.

After reboot, the remote’s screen said “Updating database”.

After the download completed (slightly faster), the remote rebooted.

After reboot, it showed a low battery indicator, prompting me to replace them!! 😄

I had no idea that you could update the remote from a BeoSound, so I thought I would add the info and details of my experience here.
