Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.
Congratulations!
Is this the model with sapphire screen and caseback or did you choose the hesalite one with engraved back? And did you treat yourself with the optionnal big black box full of goodies and literature?
Chris Townsend:Hesalite, steel back and obviously the unnecessary massive black box
The very best combination. In France we use to say something that could translate as "Totally useless, then absolutely necessary!"
A true icon that is!
On a Dutch watch forum I saw a thread on 'side views' of watches. Most photographs people post normally are from the dial, but it is interesting to see how different watches look from the side!
An item on this watch forum suggests that this particular watch leaves the factory at a cost of under £400!

That's an eventual retail mark up with taxes approaching 1000%.
Makes you wonder what B&O's actual costs are at the factory gate level. The cost of advertising, plus retail stocking and display costs etc evidently far exceed the cost of making something.

It would be interesting to know how long watches spend in jewellers shop windows. Some look like they’ve been there a long time!

Ban boring signatures!
Rolex sport models (basic) waiting time from order could takes up to 2 years, with long waiting list!
What are our experiences with watch winders? I had a 4-watch watch winder that lasted just a year and then died. However, it was only about $200. Do we need the drool-worthy watch winders from the Dr. Strange movie that cost $1000 per watch? Or are there reliable ones that are reasonably priced?
My latest acquisition... a 24-hour pocket watch by Georges Favre-Jacot - the original brand that became what we now call Zenith. I haven't been able to date it yet, but it's probably from 1890-1900 - still working well. After 120 years, it still needs re-setting twice a day - but I don't mind that a bit...

What a paradox for a “timekeeper”
Unfortunately, the problem is that I know where it was made - so I'll never know exactly when it was made... Unless, perhaps, I don't know where or who I am...

My 'Watch- Winder' brand 2 watch winder has just given up after several years use. I'm not sure whether it’s the winder itself or whether it’s the plug/ power adapter. Whilst it is really tiresome to have to repeatedly reset times and dates, I am beginning to wonder how necessary they are. They’re supposed to keep a watch in top condition through constant running, but would it really make any difference if you were to wind and wear an automatic watch at least (say) once a month instead?

Duels: CB: Hi Julian, So august is your month (the last treat of this kind dates back 2 years) Hi CB. No real reason for this August purchase except this model (with the ice blue face and rubber strap) was only released a couple of weeks ago. Tried it on and had to have it.

I love it, it suits you. Love the ice blue.
I recently purchased a Santos de Cartier Large Model which i love. It has an easily interchangeable band. I was deciding on this or the JLC reverso.

Silver and black
I was going to go all black ADLC
I originally started looking at the Omega Dark Side of the Moon which i love however, the limitation is that you can't read the dial that clearly lol
Then i went looking at the Reverso and chose the Santos.
So now with silver and black it's the best of the both worlds.
But now i still want to get a Reverso lol
My everyday watch.
