I've been streaming on Netflix the Classic Album documentaries.  Tonight, I'm half done with listening to the last four records I "watched" on Netflix.

Cream's "Disraeli Gears" and Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours" down, Tom Petty's "Damn the Torpedoes" and Steely Dan's "Aja" to go.

And oh by the way, I've fallen hopelessly in love with Christine McVie.  EmbarrassedUnsureCrying

Younger than my mother, so well inside the wheel-house.

Listening to CDs this evening, for a change.  Here's photographic evidence (I know you lot think all I listen to are LPs).

As I listened to Zeppelin's Physical Graffiti, I couldn't help thinking it sounded a bit off.  When I changed to Beastie Boys' Hot Sauce Committee 2, I knew something had to be wrong.  Turns out I had left the mono switch depressed on my BM4000 from earlier in the day.  I had engaged mono while listening to NPR on a rather static-y radio station.  (Those dam* public radio stations with their low-power transmitters.)

I'll be in CD land tonight, I have a night full of drawing ahead of me.

I bought 6 albums for tonight alone.

Kicking it off will be the Red Hot Chili Peppers

Following that will be

and

then

followed by (now my 3rd copy - can't be too far away from the best CD ever)

and finally

And a good evening of happy listening to you all! Sleep

Edit: I just counted a total of 92 songs from tonight's music splurge and I spent only 22 USD. With some quick maths I find I've spent less than $0.24 per song - take THAT iTunes.

That is all.

Yeahhhhhhhh, we're gonna have to move your desk.  To the basement.

I'm listening to "Only the Beginning" by Deborah Conway.  Next up, Nicki Minaj.

Well I've heard of tube rolling and DAC rolling but I've never heard of CD player rolling. This is currently what I am doing now..... (I think I've gone absolutely crazy).

For the past couple months I have had my $7 NAD playing and recently noticed some new sounds. As you may have guessed, they aren't good sounds. Specifically upper range distortion is what I heard and quickly replayed the same track on my iPod (ALAC file) and then on my BeoGram, the CD transport was the odd source out and since then I've dug out my old Technics and RCA units to compare.

So I am listening to that very album that perked my ears a few days ago \/

Will be monitoring through my 2600's and KRK KNS 6400's.

I know !

It is a pain and I can't work out why it does that !

And even when I edit the picture, rotate it, save it, and then upload it, it reverts to thus orientation !

Go figure !

Anyhow, here is a better image of the LinkPlayer's screen ....

Tonight I dug up an old music discovery/source of mine - NPR Music. More specifically their 'Tiny Desk Concerts'

These things are BRILLIANT! Live three-ish song sets of bands in the rock/pop/folk area. After listening to the Beirut's session, I had to have more. After doing a little investigating I discovered that all of them are available on iTunes as a podcast for free and most of them audio only - perfect!!!

These outstanding sessions do come at one cost though, recording quality. They are on the edge of being unlistenable. But for this one very exotic exception, I am willing to make the sacrifice.

Indeed ! Thanks for the prompt :-) I was able to dip back into the past because I had "iMatched" my collection to the iCloud - so now I have access any where along on travels !

Now listening to the next track "Gloria" . . . .

Wow.  Kind of let this thread just DIE, didn't we.

Saw Roger Waters perform The Wall Saturday night in Orlando's Amway Center.  Quite the spectacle.

Damn, I didn't even know he was here! Bummer. But then, between work, bouncing back and forth between here and Georgia, and family medical issues, I haven't had enough time to even keep up with what's happening.

Glad to hear it was a good concert, or at least I hope spectacle means good. Smile

Boomtown Rats "In the Long Grass" in the spare bedroom.  Did a bit of rearranging in there - took the S40s out and put in a Dark Side project.  I'm going to DIY some stands for the S40s and bring them back in when complete.  Gotta go search the archive to see Soren M's DIY S45 stands....
