olvisab: bayerische: I'm sure B&O did some things right here with the moment. Many of us (me included) said the screen of the Beosound 5 should have been a mobile one. Now we have that. We have a much smaller base/hub compared to the Beosound 5. Yay! All good things, but a premium product such as the Beosound lineup shouldn't be filled with third-party solutions in the form of blatantly taking a tablet and smacking it in the center. It's laziness, and laziness in business never works long term. Too long to list.... I am randomly agree with you. But I won't modify any word of these sentences. A modify bs5 with a removable screen would be perfect. But again this thing is not intended to replace a bs5

The Encore with a removable screen/or a great decent sized B&O two-way remote would be great!
Wireless of course, and also preferably a Spdif out.

B&O product history since 1991: Ridiculously long to list in a signature.
Yeah, that "face-time" camera staring at you... Is... Loss for words.
Just wait until someone hacks that camera! LOL!
The other question I have is, if your speakers are connect to a Beovision will the Moment connect to the TV and turn on the speakers without having to turn on the TV or pick up a remote after touching the moment?
bayerische:Yeah, that "face-time" camera staring at you... Is... Loss for words. Just wait until someone hacks that camera! LOL! Too long to list....
The camera is for (future) presence detection. So the Moment will wake up when you get close to it.
Quite like it (except the integration of the round-corner screen into the sharp-cornered tablet).
I assume it does NOT have a headphone socket, as it is not mentioned in the specs shared by Hiort?
How is the tablet wirelessly connected to the base: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, other?
Can you browse your own library by genre or is this screenshot under the Discover menu only for discovery of the Deezer catalogue?
Would it really have been too difficult to just do this ??? -
Ban boring signatures!

Raeuber: Keith Saunders: I understand that the connections are:- 2 x Power Link 1 x Ethernet 1 x Line input (RCA) A USB port for service purposes only Bluetooth for streaming from your mobile Regards Keith.... I am missing digital output and also internet access via WLAN. BTW: Is it a good idea to stream music via Bluetooth instead of Airplay? Of course you don't need WLAN to use Bluetooth. But what's about sound quality? What I know is that sound quality of Bluetooth streaming is not as good as Airplay (or DNLA). I tried to stream music from my smartphone with Bluetooth in my car and the result was a poor and flat sound quality. Or doesn't matter sound quality for Beoworlders anymore?? Regards Räuber

I believe it supports aptX which is much better quality than "old" style Bluetooth but still not lossless quality.

The more I look at the Moment, the angrier I get. I think it has some innovative, even exciting features but I can't believe a company famed for it's design is happy to submit that to the general public for comment! If they had shown it as a work in progress working model it would have been fine but to propose it as a finished £1700 odd product is bordering on a joke! Every man, child and it's dog either owns, has used or at least seen up close a Tablet of some sort. To have one (or at least it's front half) so clearly embedded and recognisable in the front of your really expensive controller would be hilarious if it was someone else - you can even still see the metal outer bezel!
Any B&O designer past, present and hopefully future should be crying and seriously embarrassed by this, as a symbol of their companies design skills.
I am fearful of the reviews from the AV press, hopefully they can enthuse over the functionality with lingering too long or hard on the complete lack of design/engineering of the controller.

Perfection my friend!
I can say that I do completely disagree in that view.
The price point is really good if you compare older prices and if you think about how much the BS5 was in the beginning.
This product have everything that the beoworlders have been asking for.
- Good pricepoint
- Easy access with bluetooth
- support of every format that is relevant
- Completely new design point to supplement the new speakers
- Digital out with WiSa
- Access from sofa with display which can be removed
- Wood, who reminds one of the old classic Jacob Jensen designs
- Mulitroom funktion (finally)
- New innovative way to lisen to new music
(You is not Puncher only)
With all these great things you dare yourself to complain about missing airplay, come on it is so unstable that it is not usable in many homes. And the price point one should think that you never have bought a B&O product before, and how would you make that cheaper, I dont see it. And missing WIFI Oh it so difficult to get a cable! and by the way cable is much more stable. The last I will point out is that you comment on a missing coaxial output for a 14 year old speaker why on earth should they spend money on supporting a old speaker which scream for a replacement.
Design you can *** about all you want(you can do that with everything I can't stop you) but it is all about taste you dont like it, that is fair but a lot of us do and it is just insulting to write so bad things about the designers who have spend time on the product.
Okay this was a bit longer than intended and not all is to your comments Puncher so sorry about that. I just miss the support from B&O fans on a fan side.

I am very happy with the list of features and the concept in general.
I am not entirely convinced by the design but maybe that will change when I see it. I do not like wood for objects in my house. I know this is personal taste, but wood is difficult to match with other wood you may already have at home. I just hope they offer another choice at some point.

+1 although I quite like the general concept
Emilos, there's several types of "fans". But I think we can put most up in two main categories.
Your group - Not pushing B&O forward. Your type seems to fill the hallways of B&O. Everything done, is great work! No matter if it's dung of the saddest cow in the field. It's great! Nothing we do can go wrong. Let's all pat ourself on the back, and continue. Never mind the critics! Better yet, close them out altogether. This is a fan site after all. Kumbayaa by the campfire. We the closest friends of B&O. The fans.
My group - Critical when critic IS due. No one ever got forward by being un criticized. I'd much rather see B&O or every company to be honest full of people who question, who aren't afraid to speak their minds. If we where the sour puss anti-fans you claim, why would we hang out here, for years and years? Do you see us complaining about BL3, BL5's, 8000 and 6000's BV9's, BS9000, BC2500 etc etc? No. Why is that? Because these where GOOD designed products. Something that we NEVER seen before. No one of us! Do you think B&O came to these wonderful achievements in both technology and design, because EVERYONE said great work at the first half-assed attempt?!
Oh dear. I thought that was a joke at first.
Open for bids?

I follow you on this but if your avatar was more neutral your voice will sound clearer and louder. This design is definetely a joke. If Tue let this thing be revealed, well I consider it is a big fault.

WHERE'S THE CHEESE?!?!?
Chris Townsend:I wondered if the pad was designed deliberately like that, so as technology changes you could just pop in the latest model with up to date hardware. Recycling innit
That was the A3!
One dollar bid, now two, now two, will ya' give me two? Two dollar bid, now three, now three, will ya' give me three?
We saw how great that worked out...
I really quite like the "mood" interface, it has more than the cleverness of MOTS without the limitations (limited playlists, inability to easily select music by artist/track etc). I like that you can limit it's scope to your own collection or the cloud by moving from in to out etc.
It's a well thought out software interface (which has been quite unusual for B&O in recent times), all that is needed is a beautifully designed and crafted, unique, tactile and unmistakably B&O controller ...................DOH!!!!!!

The A3 was actually one of B&O's best products. (Still on sale at a bargain price at the Liverpool Outlet store).

The Moment could have been made as a variant of the A3.........
OH! I have an A3 and I agree!
Other than being tipsy (who am I to complain?), it was indeed their best product of recent memory!
At some point in the future I'd love to see a photo of the inards of the dock/stand so that I can understand it's physical size.
