I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
This article shows that something revolutionary will come next week:http://nyhederne.tv2.dk/tech/2015-09-30-bo-afsloerer-nyt-hemmeligt-produkt-vil-imponere-helt-vildt
Finch: It's going to look like this (no, not the Eiffel tower):
Hi, Finch!
I'm wondering: Have you actually seen the Beolab 90? Do you know it will look like this or are you guessing?
When I first saw your post I thought you were joking. However:
B&O seems to make use of the services of Jakob Wagner a lot these days. And Jakob Wagner seems to like platonic solids. The design of both the Beolab 19 and the Beoplay S3 are based on the dodecahedron. If Wagner has been let loose on the Beolab 90 as well, a large floor speaker, it is plausible that he could base the design on a column of stacked octahedrons. Which is what your picture shows.
I just saw Millemissen's post in the "something big"-thread. The icon in that teaser poster could possibly be a stylized 2D-picture of just such a speaker, like the stylized icons for all the other products that are used to identify them in the BeoMusic app. If that is the case, the picture probably shows the speaker from above, which would indicate that the octahedrons that make up the design of the Beolab 90 are of different sizes, probably with the largest in the bottom, which again would make sense.
Also, I seem to remember that somebody wrote that the Beolab 90 would have an insane amount of drivers. That would be facilitated by such a design, don't you think? With maybe one driver per surface? Maybe not all the way around, but still.
So... Now I don't think you're joking anymore. Which is why I am wondering: Have you actually seen the speaker or are you guessing?

So here's what my imagination is telling me. Based the above stack of dice, MM's posted teaser, and hsorile's post below, as well as talk of room adaptation abound... is B&O creating motorized speakers? That is, each of the dice is a speaker with one or multiple driver units, which rotate independently around the vertical axis, to point their drivers at angles which adapt to the room.
I can't quite figure out how they'd measure the room, apart from an external microphone, or microphones, placed at key listening locations during the calibration process. But there has to be more than that. Maybe in addition to the microphone calibration, there's a computer involved, with a usb connection and software that also takes into account the dimensions of the room into some algorithm.
Of course my imagination is often wrong.
I sale all my furnitures to buy them !
What can I do now ?

Is this picture true?
I wonder if the teaser which was posted a while back of a factory worker inspecting what seemed to be a long straight beam of aluminum was if the picture above is actually of the new speaker.

Very interesting design! A little bird told me these are not the work of Jakob Wagner either.
If you look at the teaser photo, that B&O posted on their facebook site, it might well be.
A bit surprising, but we/I are/am used to and want to be surprised by B&O - so I think it is fine.
Seeing it in the flesh might give you another impression.
If you have to create a design, that is fit for a loudspeaker with speakers 'all around', you have to be bold - it could never be one of those, that we have already seen in millions of variations.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Aussie Michael:Is it really the design ?
Ask BeoBoy68 - who posted it!
Razlaw: deleted
Before Razlaw deleted his link it went to a London B&O dealer official B&O website. The picture there was like BeoBoy's first picture.
The store appears to have removed its picture and text this morning.
Again some radically new design that I have never seen on a loudspeaker before. New things will always be looked at more sceptically as compared to rather minor changes of already well-established designs. However, I appreciate the effort of doing something innovative very much and like the design already. I'm sure it will grow on many, particularly if the speakers do sound incredible as well. There simply is nothing comparable on the market designwise and if somebody likes the extraordinary, he or she will need to buy this particular speaker. Well done.
Greetings,
Kai
We should reserve judgment until we have seen inside and heard it.
