UPDATE

The Beolink Gateway is wicked! And working alongside Lutron, it pretty much covers everything I need to do in the house.

I can also use IP cameras with H.264 stream now that the firmware has been updated. This is very good news ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

I have added areas, zones and some NL equipment for now. I can't wait until it's all wired up.

BLGW working fine.

NL/ML Converter working very well.

The Beolink2 app needs to be updated.

The BeoMusic app can recognise all the sources and do more.

Hay Kiran

My experience is the opposite.

The BeoLink2 app will only show the products if you had added them in the BLGW and assigned them to a zone.

I find the navigation of music much better with BeoLink2

I have assigned the TV and Converter in the same zone - living room in the blgw.

I am currently playing the CD from the 9000 on through the TV speakers and all working fine.

When I return back to the Beolink2 app, it asks to select a source and doesn't recognise I'm playing music. Also, the sources of the converter doesn't show up too or the BS9000 icon.

It works in the BeoMusic app.

I can address one thing for the ML devices

ML devices do not provide feedback to the BLGW due to a limitation of ML.

For example when my BV7 is switched on to AV1 and I open the app the app it does not recognise it's on, I have to select the source before I can control or put it to standby.

All the NL devices do provide feedback

I love how you can set different icons on the converter that you want displayed on the apps for the legacy systems.

This is really making me buy a converter for all legacy lol.

Looks wicked though ๐Ÿ’ฏ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Hi Kiran,

If I'm understanding, you're missing the BS9000 sources in the BeoLink App2, am I right?

If that is the case, please check on the BeoLink Gateway setup page that the BLC (the one that represents the BS9000) is defined under Resources and also that their sources are listed in the Interfaces tab.

BTW: Really nice project!

Best.-

Hi Fedenunez

I have mapped the sources correctly and they show up properly in the BeoMusic app.

In the BLGW, I have put my new Avant and BLC under the same zone but the Beolink2 app does not see any sources from the BLC.

If I put the BLC under a separate zone, then the Beolink2 app can see the sources.

I really think this has to do with the Beolink2 app.

Thanks โ˜บ๏ธ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Did you try with the BeoLink App 1?

Can you share your BLGW configuration?

I just realised you may be right about the sources in the interface tab in the blgw. I will check that when I get home.

All I did was added the NL/ML to the zone. I just realised I captured all the sources for the other equipment when I initially set it up a few days ago.

Thanks for the heads up ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’ฏ

I will update you shortly.

Hi Fedenunez

Thanks for your help.

Because I am using the speakers for the BLC through the NL Avant in an integrated setup, the sources have been hidden to choose in the blgw. They can only be chosen from the TV. See picture below.

I had to scroll down and "unhide" the sources in the TV's interface.

I now have full control. ๐Ÿ•

I prefer the Beolink2 app. It's very well done ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

It would be nice to see both icons of the Avant and BS9000 though like the BeoMusic app.

The BLC icon shows up when the Avant is standby ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Kitchen should be the Beosound 2 icon but that's not working in the app so far.

Hi All

I currently have 2 Nest thermostats. Upstairs and downstairs.

I have integrated this in the blgw temporarily until the Heatmiser Neohub gets installed.

I can only assign the Nest thermostat to one zone so I have made extra zones downstairs and upstairs.

Is it possible to assign the downstairs thermostat to all downstairs zones? And the same for upstairs?

Can anyone please advise. Thank you.

Thank you Duels.

My greatest achievement will be the dummy proof automated home through the Lutron system.

I will be installing a number of wireless tabletop keypads.

They will be programmed to open the front gates, switch on garden fountains, open windows, operate lighting and blinds, preset music and TV in designated zones and more.

This is very good for people who don't want to operate the house through an iDevice.

One will be able to walk around with the keypad below and operate the whole house.

Hi Kiran,

I am following your building of your own B&O-house,

What a great project.

So many cables, but I cannot see a label on it? How will you manage this?

What kind of router/switch will you use?

Looking forward to see more of your progress!

Suc6!

Hi

Thank you for your interest!

Each cable is labelled. You may not see it but they are all labelled.

In the end, I will have 120 Cat6A coming back to my server room and whole load of others too.

I will be making my own patch panel using tool less keystone jacks. I don't like the other ones that are ready made to punch-down the cable.

With regards to routers and switches, I will be using Pakedge equipment.

A lot of my Cat6A cables will be patched to Masterlink patch modules for legacy equipment so I will not need that many switches.

We'll see how it goes.

I'm more excited about my Lutron install lol.

Hi Kiran,

I'm also following your building project with many interest.

Can you post some images from your Lutron install? I'm thinking about a Lutron install to control my B&O equipment. In germany with have the KNX equipment from Gira or Busch & Jaeger for example. But the Lutron Palladiom looks much better i think.

KNX looks nice but I guarantee you my Lutron setup will be second to none.

Brushed aluminium wall plates finished with black buttons and custom engraving and the same for the Grafik Eye QSs. The same for RF tabletop keypads. I will also have Pico switches for the cars to operate the gates and set the scene before you come inside.

I have no components installed yet. I don't have anything to show. All wiring is happening as we speak. Components and lighting panel should arrive in a week or two.

Hi Bigdeniz

The Lutron Palladiom series looks wicked! Especially the thermostat. I really wanted to use the whole series but I can't in my install so I went for the International SeeTouch Keypads and 2 Grafik Eye QS.

I will use some full spec 15 button keypads programmed to do many things. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Because in some parts of the house I have electric underfloor heating and in other parts I have water underfloor heating.

The Palladiom thermostat does not support something in my setup.

ok, i understand. Here in germany the Lutron series are much more expensive than the KNX equipment. You can only buy the equipment at one Lutron partner. How is it in your case?

Yes the Lutron is more expensive than KNX here too.

There are a few certified dealers I know that are close to me but I'm working with my original Control4 home automation guy to get this installed and certified so I can get the 8 year warranty.

He was originally going to install Control4 and Philips Dynalight for me but it has all changed lol.
