Hi seethroughyou,

I must be the die hard Moment fan, use it all the time and really love the device. Unfortunately I had one that died on me and had it fixed (around €450). Something with the motherboard of the tablet.

What I like most is the B&O look and feel of the tablet when playing music with the family. When docked it looks just cool.

Integration in Multiroom is also perfect, only thing that might trouble you is the limited sound settings in comparison with a modern Beovision. With a TV you get the most out of your Beolabs. Then again you can connect the Moment to your BV as standard and use the connected BL’s through the tv.

If I remember you can buy a completely new Moment for around €1500? In Holland / Belgium the going rate for pre used Moments are €1200-€1350.

If you are drawn to the design, go for it.

Comparison with a iPad looks a bit silly to me. Off course the app will give you full control either but and an iPad itself can be nice to look at. But a nice car is not a nice convertible and with the latter you actually can turn the roof open and enjoy your sunny drives. Hence, the Moment will give you an more exclusive feel than the app. The mood wheel among others.

Clearly, everyone's use case is a bit different. I was lucky to buy a barely used Moment for 900 EUR, so it was more of an impulse buy quite frankly.

I get the Core+iPad combo, but I've never considered it because I wanted a WISA system to drive Beolab 17s wirelessly and I wanted mood wheel/pattern play functionalities. Visually I like it better too than the iPad plus cable.

Well I also like the BSM. Just moved and had it shipped one end of the globe to the other with everything else and in its original packaging. Finally unpacked it and dead as a door nail, perhaps after initial use if you unplug it for any period of time it gets grumpy. Anyway something had to be replaced and is a £580 odd bill to fix Sad

I think I found the right balance for me by combining a BSM and a Core.

(1) the Core and BSM are covering each other in case of failure, hardware or software, as I would not live without music.

(2) The Core is linked to the BSM (tks MM) and the Core is connected to a TR1 to stream wireless to my BLs

(3) For vinyle sessions, I have a turntable connected to the BSM which is showing its wood face. I just place the record on the turntable, play it and control the volume via the BSM et voilà. Nice look and feel.

(4) When I want to play my music randomly form my digital sources and according to my mood, I use the BSM MW or PP

(5) When I want to listen to my large DLNA collection, Deezer or TuneIn, or to join another B&O Multiroom experience, I use either the BSM/Tablet or App or the Core/App

(6) When I want to use PLEX features to play my DLNA collection, I either use PLEX app on my Samsung TV connected to the Core ,or PLEX web/mobile apps to stream to B&O individual or group Cast products

(7) When I want some kind of voice control (I'm not a big fan of that), I ask Google assistant to play a particular radio station on a given product or cast group

I must admit that wife is lost with all these possibilities, but she only really cares about controlling the TV sound which the Essence remote connected to the Core does perfectly, including jumping from source to source by a simple press, so I can watch TV and enjoy Music at the same time if needed.

To summarize .... the BSM is really nice but has its gaps that a Core can fill easily while providing some redundancy in the backup point of view.

I not only enjoy my BS moment I love it. I don’t like to be depending on having my iPhone or iPad close by but enjoy having the option of using either and also very like that on the masterlink side of the network I can just use a remote. It’s probably the most loved product from b&o I ever owned.

What is the latest software serial number? My BSM is on automatic software update and can’t see if it already downloaded the new software.

Thanks! I’m on the same software and just saw the notification in the history list on my BSM that it had updated the sound heart.

I noticed that the link function was not as it used to be. Was playing a Deezer session on my Horizon and it did not show up as a link on the BSM. Only through the app I could join the BSM into a multiroom play.

Maybe something to do with the latest update?

On my side I have sounds drop on products that have joined the BSM, particularly the ones in WiFi. In order to solve them I have to change the delay, up not down it does not matter as long as I trigger a change.

I too have had problems on the masterlink side of my setup the last couple of days. Sounds starts to drop out then disappear. Sometimes I can just repress a-mem and the sound will come back and sometimes I have to turn of all masterlink products and then turn them back on. BMS continue to play.

No wireless products in my setup and wired speakers connected to the BMS.

Looks like we are facing another problematic BSM update ..... Unfortunately Lyle is no longer on the BSM side, he would have helped here

Typical. I have none of the above mentioned problems. 

My Moment uses the speakers which are connected to my BV9 through the NL/ML converter. In the linkmenu the BSM showes a playing Core,Essence and M5. All NL devices are shown in the setupmenu. 

So, what’s the difference.

To be clear here: we are no longer your beta testers. We should not need to fill out "a form" to report this issue. (As you just emailed me asking me to fill out a form.) We finally thought we had a stable product. Now, it no longer isn't after your software update. Fortunately, I'm still under warranty. I'm prepared to contact my dealer about this for a refund if this isn't sorted ASAP.

Mine has been rock solid prior to and after the update, very odd

Hi Beojeff,

For reference I’ve connected my BSM to my Horizon (through the setup on the BSM) and this works fine for me. Both BSM and Horizon are hardwired.

Do you have the same setup?

Does somebody know (or can B&O provide information), what are the reasons behind the new software update?

Luckily my software is still on 2.2.23900-2.2.22636.26265250

And thank you very much for the information in this thread, I immediately turned off the „Automatic software update“. After all the software problems in the past, I am finally happy to have a Beosound Moment that is running smooth. So I decided no more software updates on my Moment!

Can you see your Horizon on the list of networkdevices under Beolink?

Sometimes taking the power off both can solve communication issues.

I am also experiencing frequent wifi dropouts suddenly... Moment then needs to go through reconnect process. Seriously, can we please have a rollback to previous firmware - all was working well?

I'm having those exact same issues. I can connect with my Beovision 10 to use its speakers for a short time, but then the connection becomes unstable and I have to reboot the Moment. I'm using a wired Cat7 connection, btw. When the connection is lost, the Moment is no longer shown in the list of NL devices on the nl/ml converter. However, all of my other NL devices are still shown in the NL list on the converter.

It‘s also happed to me. I just received my Moment back from a service technician (Jukebox was dead for the second time and had to be replaced once more) and found that the SW was updated. Now audio is stuttering like hell. I‘m using the Moment integrated with my BV11.

The Moment sadness continues...

Is a class action lawsuit out of the question? Such is the indifference of Moment owners now but there is plenty of precedent in the consumer technology world.

It’s worse than that. Class action lawsuits are for those that care and have the energy to care. Most Moment users have given up on the Moment and stopped caring a long time ago. Recent years have proven that B&O don’t care and like an immature, decided to abandon it and runaway rather than stepping up, taking responsibility and trying to work hard on a fix. They are a company of EOL when the going gets tough.

I haven’t bought anything from B&O since the Moment and just don’t trust them. They have become a company of headphones. To be honest, I’m questioning how much longer I should be on the forum. The forum is great and the people even better but the passion for B&O has almost completely evaporated. Maybe B&O have moved on and I haven’t.

One month ago my Jukebox finally give up (again) and I'm not planning to replace it for a third time.

This is the worst buy I did from this company and I'm not planning to buy further goods from them. I was one of the first Moment buyers and helped B&O Denmark endlessly to get this audio component working as it should. Never get any thank you or note to thank me from them.

I was used as a beta tester... Bye Bye, B&O.

My Moment suffers from the stuttering issue. It’s pathetic. I think twice about using it when we have visitors because it’s so embarrassing. On an unrelated note, the YouTube app on my BV11 has also started to have issues. The video stops but the sound keeps playing. It would be nice if such an expensive product was maintained for a bit longer. I bought mine in 2015. My Moment was purchased shortly after and was completely unusable until the firmware was basically rewritten years later.

Do you use the Moment with LAN cable? Mine did stutter a lot when on wifi, with LAN never happend again

It is indeed wired. It certainly improves things, but does not solve the problem. I did hear that B&O had a firmware version with a fix, but for some unknown reason they have not rolled it out for everyone.

The idea of a class action suite is intriguing to me and I wonder if we could compel them to do another update that fixes some of the outstanding problems.

Rather then a class act I would prefer an software update that fixes all glitches.

On my Moment when selecting another song from the ‘now playing’ screen I sometimes see the artist cover for a very short time. Somehow the meta data is still in the Moment but is suppressed. If the artist covers and moodwheel was fixed the pleasure of using the Moment would be restored.

Only issue that then remains is the very bad electronics in the tablet! They die at random and that still remains unacceptable

And the Moment and the BV11...... It seems like you have a network issue!

The issue is definitely B&Os dodgy software, and it was a lot better before their last software update. All they have to do is release a new update that undoes whatever it was they did to break it. The same goes for the metadata which used to display correctly.

Hello all,

Do any of you have an issue with FIP Radio no longer streaming from the Moment? All other stations on the Moment work fine and FIP works directly from the Web or the TuneIn App, so the service does work.

You are correct, FIP as well as other radios from Radio France are failing to start on the Moment while working correctly in other B&O products with TuneIn service.

Note: it is not related to location as I’m located in France

Time for a ticket to B&O support !
