I had pulled out the BC3500 two weeks ago to rebox it as part of spring cleaning. I ended up testing it a bit because I honestly couldn't remember how much it worked. I only briefly played with it when Dom had given it to me.

Through headphones, the tuner picked up my favorite station loud and clear without an antenna. All but the Speakers 2 switch seemed to work. Noise from the sliders was minimal.

Bummer, then, when the turntable didn't work. The old round belt was soft and broken. I know these belts can't be found, so I Googled a replacement and found a place in the States that had an approximation. I received the belt last week and finally gave it a spin tonight.

I am currently listening to Fleetwood Mac Rumours and it doesn't sound bad at all. The right channel took a couple minutes to fully kick in, and the automatic functions don't work at all. But, I think it's been far too long since I tackled a project, and this piece is just too damn cool to stick back in a box. This piece needs to kick it with the P45s. I better get in touch with Martin and see about a cap and lamp kit. Better get back to gold level membership, too.

I was amazed how well the tuner worked with that broken antenna, but I'm wondering if you'll need to refurbish the turntable motor. I hope the belt takes care of it for you. Have fun!

It's the Madness band, in 1979.

Or I don't understand your question...

Here is a more known picture:

Actually a few hours ago now. I need the ultimate in sound occasionally and that can only be found (in my opinion) with a live music performance. Tonight I had another listen to Joe Walsh in concert. He is one of my favorite artists to see live.

Today I listened to:

the latest album from the great songwriter and artist Ron Sexsmith.

Well respected by his music colleagues and the critics too.

But only known and favourited by few listeners - too few IMO.

Years ago I was a bit 'scared' by the name (Ron Sexsmith) and had associations with something in the more 'heavy metal'ish' genre.

But I was wrong - have a listen for yourself:

Det har været en frygtelig uge, var tvunget til at arbejde hver dag, også i morgen fredag, ikke nogen lang weekend for mig, der er dog håb for at jeg kan undgå samme uhyrlige skæbne i næste uge, jeg er lige kommet ind fra værkstedet, gravede lidt i musiksamlingen og fandt den her, der er altid en løsning på denne kummerlige tilværelse.

Lets go fishing

Jeg afnød disse gode råd og Gitte forsatte med en sang om mig: So Schön kan doch kein Man sein

Well google it

Ravels Piano Concerto, Live from Helsinki. Radio DR P2.

My B&O M5 played this work just fine. Pretty dynamic also to my surprise. Nice body to the instruments. Not bad at all.

And that guy. Gramophone Artist of the Year Daniil Trifonov.

Wow, just wow.

Here is one I bet most of you have yet to discover...  I have been a big fan of The Polish Ambassador for years.  He is a great underground artist that does some awesome glitchy ambient electrochill.  Here is one of my favorite albums put out by him...
