CES is just 8 days away. B&O TV productions appears to be almost over. Lets hope we get to see something like PP's Surround Processor at CES.

For all TV brands -An B&O HUB in 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos. Connection: Wired for the previous generation BeoLab orWirelees for the new generation BeoLab, could be a great setup. Then all wishes can be fulfilled in 2019.
Sorry to say, I think the product above is not where B&O should invest. It's a legacy hub thats will appeal to a very narrow market for a very short period of time. Connectivity and Speakers is now a wireless game. Hubs need to drive broader home automation and experiences. B&O needs to have the same attitude as Apple, being brave to dump stereo jacks, integrated DVDs and slow USB ports. Yes, you'll get your moans from groups of people with their old stuff, but its a necessity if you are to focus on progress and real innovation. You have to leave the baggage behind. Sorry, but B&O needs to look out ahead if it is to start growing again.
Agreed - many have suggested all they want in a sound bar / hub that comes with a Beoremote 1 and PUC connectivity.
On the surface that makes sense - it allows existing customers to use a 3rd party TV with B&O speakers, and carry on.
But when you dig deeper, its not so clear.
The 3rd party TV Ui will still be garish, colourful etc i.e. not the heritage B&O feel. And its far from clear how a BR 1 will be able to fully control the TV UI.
Increasingly TV UI / OS are voice controllable - I don't think they will update the BR 1 to interrogate voice, so how useful / future proof will one be?
And when it comes to PUC, while many of us here are fans, increasingly the industry is moving away from IR and blasters.
So in that sense, if B&O were being forward looking / ambitious, I can't help but feel that PUC won't be a priority for them.
I was looking at a Harmony Elite remote - set aside the aesthetics, which are cheap. It is very capable, integrating voice, scenes, home automation etc - hard to argue that the BR 1 is much better.

Ken Hong, LG's Global Communications Manager, says on CES's new questions."It is not LG's policy to comment on rumors and speculation", after which Ken added:"But everything can happen at CES".
It is important to understand that HDMI 2.1 consists of a number of sub-components and that some of them are already built into a few 4K TVs. Flatpanel expect many more displays in 2019 to offer features like HDMI eARC and VRR. On the other hand, the increased bandwidth that allows 8K input signals - and 4K at higher frame rates - requires new chipsets. Flatpanel expect to see the first TV with such chipsets at the CES fair, but do not expect full HDMI 2.1 to become the norm in 2019.

In the past year, there has been a severe wage increase from DKK 6.6 million. DKK in the previous financial year for the whole DKK 12.8 million Recently, B & O's annual accounts state that DKK.

Nobody needs HDMI 2.1 or eARC unless they are moving to a new TV and devices that require it. In which case the hub is useless anyhow. If and when devices arrive where it's absolutely critical, then you'll want the 8K TV to go with it that requires 18GB bandwidth, otherwise there is no point. Your existing TV won't see any benefit whatsoever.
I'm sorry to say it, but I don't think this is a seller and certainly nothing I'd invest R&D into. As they say on Dragons Den - "I'm out"
If you have HDR and Dolby Vision - eg. The Eclipse - then you're good for the foreseeable.

Maybe they should stay completely out of the US with the ‘staged products’ - it has always been a dead end market.
And concentrate on selling BT speakers/headphones over there instead.

The Millemissen closes down for the United States. What about Aus / NZ. Life there is also too complicated for BeoCare. Customer complaints then fall by 60%.

Torben Rasmussen:For previous comment: It is just reference to the number of units, so two base units and 4 tweets,but it was based on how their other models have been so far. Looking at exmy own TV, it has 3 tweeters and two subs on the back and it is also indicated as 3.2 and LGscurrent Atmos models are indicated by 4.2 channel Atmos speakers (see examples E8 and G8). It is a rather artificial way of naming it, since the woofer does not make sense in itself and the tweets can hardly be categorized as an entire channel. But as the news mentions, there is a speaker somewhere in the booth. I think it's in it upper part of the frame and then maybe have some base at the bottom, but we must see that. It may also be that it is even wilder :-)

LG Electronics probably also supplies a LG TV with sound in floor Stand . Otherwise, it may end up with the TV and surround receiver that provides individual replacement options. Now HDMI 2.1 / eARC must be fully implemented in TV and receiver. It's about to happen.

Why can't both be true ?
I.e firstly, that it's not a killer feature, just a useful one, and secondly it's not a primary focus for the LG TV presentations.....
I just watched the LG CES presentation - man, it was amateur-ish, at least Apple know how to do these.
The rollable OLED is very cool - though not sure it suits every use case / environment. One aspect some may like - it rolls away into an enclosure, effectively leaving a sound bar. That's an interesting concept / prospect (all the more so now the sound bar is Airplay 2 as well).
Oh and the box / sound bar enclosure comes with Kvadrat covers! Laughed out loud when they mentioned this in the keynote....
Other take-away - TV's just becoming standalone hubs now, voice enabled themselves, with integrated GA / Alexa / AP2 (ok, not Siri). The dream of a dumb TV I well and truly dead now...
