Because of the difference in the platter designs, the top surface of the 8002 platter is 2 mm higher than that of the BG 8000 in relation to the detector arm.

Additionally, the actual height of the detector arm of the BG8000 is 1.5 mm higher than the top of the arm of the BG 8002 due to the different dimensions of the two designs and the difference in their actual connection to the carriage.

The bottom line is, 23mm is correct for the BG 8000 and 19.5 mm is correct for the 8002.
