Hello all!

I have heard from a reliable source that the next BeoVision will be made of wood on the back and sides.

Just thought I'd share. Pretty exciting!

Smile  Probably need to see that in the flesh before judging.

I was sceptic to the BL18:s at first, but now I think they are brilliant.

From what I hear, it's happening sooner rather than later. If that means they will announce it later this year and wait until next year for OLED delivery or bypass OLED altogether, I do not know.

I love wood on hifi and TVs. Will stand out from the glass and aluminium crowd that everyone's doing.

Good wood Beovision 7-55 Mk2, Avant RF 28, Beolab 9, Beolit 15, Beoplay A2, Beocom 2, Beotime, H8/H6/H2, Form 2, Beoplay A3, Beovision 5-42 connected to a DVD1

Both my grandparents had this (MX?) Beovision, and they are both largely still functional (but not in use) I believe! After 30+ years now?! This is quite frankly amazing for today's standards isn't it?

Brought back some nice memories... Smile Still remember the remote, heavy as a brick! Could do some serious damage Stick out tongue

Sentimentality aside, I am looking forward to a modern wooden BV - OLED or otherwise. Could be exciting!

I think Beo has made a great choice by the wood. BL18 is a success and now the BL90 comes in wood.

I think a Beoplay tv would be nice with wood. The 90-00's was very clean and "metalish".

A 48" Beoplay tv in wood and a pair of BL18 on the sides. Big Smile

But wheeeen?

This will be a budget tv, whereas next years OLED I'm guessing to be the Avant 65-75 replacement. And of course the 11-55 gets UHD later this year!

ExcitingYes - thumbs up

There should  be a built-in speaker, and also a design line, then, I think the images can be real.

I would really consider to change my bv10-40 for a new uhd (and HDR) tv that fits in the space I have. I don't know if this design would allow that... I really hope so. Actually from a perceived quality point of view, anything smaller than a 55" would not make much sense... We'll see...

In my opinion, wood is an excellent choice especially regarding the latest product development from B&O (BL18 / Moment / BL 90) and it makes perfect sense they offer a BV with the same finishing to complete the pack. I am guessing they will come with a BV11 evoultion which would be the ideal candidate with its frame but let's wait and see... Anyway, very exciting ;)

How cool - wood on a TV is just right somehow - or maybe I am getting too old, but loved my BV7700 when I had it and the funny thing is it would still look good today - A very welcome return.

Loewe released a wood style TV a couple years ago, it did look good..

i doubt a TV incorporating wood would be cheap either.

If it's based on the BV11 then maybe as Peter Pan has shown, it's just the interchangeable speaker grill so shouldn't be too expensive but with B&O, you never know...

Personally I don't think, that it will be like in the 'Peter Pan version'.

Nevertheless, imo that would be a good idea.

An interchangeable wooden grill might also create a lot of aftersales

It looks quite good too and could be a way to personalize your tv - when you think of how few possibilities a designer has, when he must 'design' a modern tv.

Let's wait and see, what they have made - mostly we are surpriced from what they make.

My understanding is that it will be available in 40 and 55 inch flavours and have a higher level of web-based functionality. There will be no 46inch on launch nor is there any info on potential larger sizes.

Also no idea on the form-factor or tech-specs or the materials to be used.

Announcement to Dealers in the next 7 to 14 days.

I'm personally thinking a new 11-46 for the bedroom with a decent discount will be better for me rather that the latest hot new TV as I cant see this new product being a cheaper product than an 11.

My initial reaction is that it would make sense to make the wood on the tv in the same colours as the BL18 frets as they are likely to be seen together. But I thought that about the wood on the moment............

As far as my information goes, there are 3 lines in the pipeline for 2016.

Call them new or upgrades.......

The successor of the V1, the new/upgraded BV11 (or maybe called BV14) and an upgraded Avant.

As for screen sizes - there simply are too many contradicting 'rumours' :-(

The BV/OLED is another one - and for 2017.

The dealers - or at least some of them - will start to get more informations next week.

Whether they are allowed to tell anything or not after that, I don't know?

But ..... (I am afraid) we won't see anything being launched untill in the second half of this year.

P.S. Feel free to correct me - - - if you can.
