Steffen: Søren Hammer: I am still surprised that tape could sound this good - even compared to the Beocord 9000, this is miles ahead! Miles ahead? With all respect to the Revox...Maybe it's because your BC 9000 is not in top condition..? (Afterall, it IS 30 years old) I have a review from the well respected danish Hi-fi magazine 'High Fidelity' from back then. In the review they wrote, that in a blindtest they would actually not be able to tell the difference between a record played on a good turntable with a good pickup, and the recording made on the 9000 using a good quality tape... I'll be happy to mail you a copy of the review, if you want it.

Yes I've read that too. The review guy probably got a little carried away...
I'm right now listening to Kate Bush on my Beocord 9000 and yes it sounds superb. And the whole recording process, the real-time counter are a joy. And of course, next to a Beomaster 6000 or 8000... And it's a wonder that piano is so stable with such an ordinary (in appearance), simple capstan, belt-driven transport!
The Naks (another addiction of mine) are also nice machines, unfortunately uncompatible with the Beocord 9000. The 9000 tapes sound too bright on other machines. Tapes recorded on Naks invariably sound dull on the Beocord.
But frankly, my ReVox machines do sound better, even if a little more hissy of course. Especially, the all-valve G36 is a stunner at full speed.
Nice B77 Søren!

That was one of the problems with the cassette tapes. They sounded always best on the same tapedeck as they were recorded. I guess that even if you took a tape from one Beocord 9000 and played it on another 9000 there would be a difference...
My BM4000 arrived! In fact this is my first black metal B&O.
blah-blah and photographs as needed
Orava: My BM4000 arrived! In fact this is my first black metal B&O.
Did the courier bring some pics too To compare here is mine
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.

Nop, I have to take them all by myself, on weekend.
No doubt, it is same machine. My first impressions, YES!
No major issues, all function seems to be ok, except signnal strenght meter(?) Obviously from a smoker, so little cleaning, at least, to be do. And as you can hear, no humming .
Hey, there is something missing on this side...
Got to put it on hold for a while with all others in a AAA-state(AddictedAdded waiting for Attention): (Beocat?)
Should do that BM5500, only speaker relay to change, now I have to use BM6500 witch is different color from rest of system...:
Lot of shining nice little knobs and nuts...

Impressive collection, and good that the BM 4000 is working and looking good, If you intend to store it for a while, clean the wood wit Iso alc. and give it some oil, it looks dry on the pic, the oil will prevent the dryness getting worse. Thank you for the good pics
Just hung my BM 2400 and the Bvox 1600 on the wall, to my surprise, the BM 2400 has keyhole holes to hang it, so no mods was necessary. The cables are still hanging like monkey swings

I think it wont be too long on hold, cant wait to have a look inside it...
Oh, I just noticed "Ambio" knob. Just as an sidenote, there is under BM/BL5000 a Salora 3001 Ortoperspecta combo (with Thorens TD160). Inventor of Ortoperspecta Mr Tapio Köykkä has a law case against B&O in seventies claiming that B&Oś ambio is breaking his patent in Finland, and if I remember he win the case.

Can there be too many?

A stone just fell from my heart!

Am I nuts or nots? I allready have two of these waiting on my self, and one 9300...Well, allmost mint...
That's all? 2x 8500, 5x 9000, 2x 9300, 3x 9500
Brengen & Ophalen
Next one? Who's got a phone collection/addiction?
Nice BeoCenter Orava! And even with the original box! I'm looking for a 9500 - I've actually never owned a BeoCenter from that series... Shame on me!
Hmmm.... BeoComs.... 3, 600, 1401, 1600, 2500, 6000, 9000 GSM, 9500 GSM... (No chargers for the mobile phones though) but I guess that's peanuts in comparison to what you've got Leslie?
My in-laws have got a mirror Beocenter 9500 and I have always wanted one...

Mwah, besides the ones on the pictures? Serene's, Serenata's, Beocoms 5, Beocoms 4, Beocoms 5000, 6000's (qty approx. 40) Beotalks etc.
Show-off hah, just call me crazy....
Watch the Champaign Stopper at the lower right corner. That's what I've got from Peter (moderator) long time ago. I treasure that piece
chartz: My in-laws have got a mirror Beocenter 9500 and I have always wanted one...
Really?
Leslie: That's all? 2x 8500, 5x 9000, 2x 9300, 3x 9500
I'm trying hard to avoid that situation
Leslie: chartz: My in-laws have got a mirror Beocenter 9500 and I have always wanted one... Really?
Yes Leslie. Definitely.
Leslie:9000 GSM, 9500 GSM... (No chargers for the mobile phones though)
I have a charger left, new in the box Dennis.
Found a couple of things today. Here a Beomaster 1400K with aluminum pushbuttons (no serial number label and never had one):
Waiting for restoration.
Martin
?
are these buttons original?
if yes, I think it is really the rarity!
Vintage Bang & Olufsen
The buttons look and feel original to me. Correct surface structure, correct lettering and symbols.A prototype would be my guess.
Leslie: I have a charger left, new in the box Dennis.
Hi Leslie
Thanks for your offer, but I think I'm gonna decline, as it's not a "got to have" item and I probably wont be using it - I have enough things lying around that aren't being used.
______________________________
The fact that I didn't have a BeoCenter from the 9000 series must have triggered something...
Not vintage, but yesterday I bought a BeoCenter 9300, BeoLab 6000 (Pair) and a Beo4 + cables - All from 1997 according to the SN. The BC is in good condition, the BL's have a few scratches, 2-3 holes in the frets and the drivers need to be refoamed (Although they are made out of rubber... ), but the Beo4 probably hasn't been used more than a couple of times, I only found two small marks on the edges after looking at it for a few minutes, otherwise it's mint! It has probably been unused for quite a few years as the porous foam on the inside of the battery cover still was intact!
Pictures or it didn't happen? - Will come, it's too dark now.
And congratz with your 1400K, Martin! Think I have one myself somewhere - Standard though. I think it's great when one of us BeoWorlders get hold of the collectibles - We share information about some, maybe even unknown, rarities with each other and it furthermore gives some kind of guarantee for, that the item probably and hopefully will be taken good care of.
Orava: I'm trying hard to avoid that situation
Sure, a 9300 now! Where does it end
Dennis:Pictures or it didn't happen? - Will come, it's too dark now.
Maybe you should invest in a Camera with Flash (Digital and not vintage), before you buy more BC.
Dillen:Here a Beomaster 1400K with aluminum pushbuttons (no serial number label and never had one):
It will be interesting to see what you find inside.

I have a Canon EOS 450D. The built in flash can light up the whole living room, but pictures taken with flash always look like cr*p IMO! I'll rather wait and give you some proper pictures to look at.
Nice piece, Martin Looks like it´s in good shape.
Yesterday, when I still had issues in Stockholm, I took the opportunity to make a deal on a "portable" Beovision MX3500. On the phone the seller told me that he also had some other B&O-stuff if I was interested...
It shoved to be a Beocord V6000, Beogram 3000 with MMC4-pickup and Beomaster 7000 with a Beogram CD 7000. All in very good condition and with all original documents intact. Thank you Urban!
By the way, missing that fat remote control, the Beolink 7000, is it still possible to adjust the preset volume on the Beomaster 7000? For example with a Beo4?
trio fantastico completed!
Ohhh, I almost forgot the most important rule here: Pictures or it didn't happen!
so...
Maybe I should, why not, add these knobs here, thought
I have had them years and years, I dont even know where they come from... But only today I learn, they are B&O's, thanks Leslie!
Now I got to find gear they fits
maybe not...
the_o_master: Ohhh, I almost forgot the most important rule here: Pictures or it didn't happen! so...
That's the Minette you were talking about "the_o_master"?
@Orava, keep it. I can be usefull for later if you find for example a Beo 610
Yes, it is indeed. The nice old rare Minette 609K. Not the nicest one but working good with the Beolab 608.
But I am looking forward for a matching rosewood Minette...
And I think the BEO 610 matches this duo perfectly on this Billy shelf. Thx ;-)
very cool solution orava
we can add this proposal to our Workbench Forum
Certainly wouldn't be the worst mod I'd seen

Olly
Hey o_master, theres something missing from my set up compared to yours! Did you find a power source for your Beo? Mine had one fitted in period. See here for details. http://archivedarchivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/p/41033/340964.aspx#340964
Does any one know if there was ever a tuner offered in black for the 610 amp. Ive never seen or heard of one.
