Attending a live concert from time to time is good to "reset" your ears and to get again an idea of how it should sound...

Yes - thumbs up

Inspired by reading about some of his newest releases (yet to hear), I grabbed this one from my collection.

A 2 CD edition with a DVD of a concert performance of his take on a wide variety of popular songs from several decades.

There is a 5.1 audio option........which I - of course - have choosen.

Doing some firmware testing ... and continuing to be in love (again) with Beethoven’s Romances ...

I used Deezer HiFi.

Then I switched to using DLNA from the Core to Plex on my Mac mini to access my iTunes library.

Played a CD I had ripped years ago.

And then I tried I tried to access some of the Apple Music tracks that in the background are downloaded into the iTunes library - voila ! It worked Smile

For the record Adele was better on the BL20 than Sophie (Deezer) and Yehudi (CD rip) - but that’s more a comment on recording technology Big Smile

Don’t ask me how I came across this band with that funny name.

Probably heard them on Radio Paradise and had to check them out.

This is their latest release/album.

You  can hardly put 3hatrtro in a box.....but it definitely is not mainstream.

I am going ro listen to their previous 3 albums too, for sure.

.....the new album from American Aquarium - which I just stumpled upon a few days ago.

Looking forward to listening to the previous 9 albums.

They are on tour this fall not far from my place - might go there ;-)

For those more into visuals - here is link to the official video of one of the tracks from the album:

Playing ? Listening ? Watching ?

I don’t know which thread to put this under Big Smile

Browsing the Apple Music video channels in the ATV and under Classical I have found some amazing wonderful inspiring and perhaps unique pieces such as this one ...

Beethoven’s ninth symphony by Maurice Bejart

Gil Roman, Bejart Ballet Lausanne, the Tokyo Ballet, The Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra, Ritsuyukai Choir & Zuben Mheta

+1 Dom! They are favorites of mine too. What do you think about this one:

I saw them a couple of years ago in Amsterdam - they still deliver!

Yes, Johan - I like that album too. I have several of them, and I prefer their pre- eliminator period music. I saw them and Stevie Ray Vaughan in concert the year before his untimely passing.

Yeah, more pop and less blues for my taste. Just a preference.

A friend of mine recommended listening to Courtney Marie Andrews.

This is her latest albums - one of those, that are recorded ‘live in the studio’.

Perfect for late night listening - might need some attention from the listener to unfold.
