Rich: eugene1960:and by golly they do have them I bid. One of my all time great hi fi regrets is not buying the original Nitty Gritty when it was introduced. IIRC they only cost $125 or so.EditBy the way, listening to another set of cassettes from the FLURS. Peter Gabriel So. And thinking of the victims in Boston....
My only concern is will it clean the record or simply grind the vinyl down to bits and pieces.
Just had a trawl through my vinyl and stopped at thriller and chucked it on its been a while but quite enjoyable bringing back a lot of memories

Discovering Dorona Alberti and Gare Du Nord
BeoNut since '75
Found my old Texas CD.
Last week went to listen Mari Kalkun Trio, great new folkmusic, but would be unfair try to listen record right after live experience
blah-blah and photographs as needed
elephant: Gare Du Nord
This is excellent, thank you for sharing! Stuck on the song 'Hot Glue' at the moment - very interesting.
Now sampling further via the YouTube song compilation.
Beo4 'til I die!
Not exactly a "playing right now" recorded music, but this past Tuesday I attended the final concert of the small town symphony orchestra where I live, that is lucky enough to draw musicians from both Atlanta and Columbus Georgia. Concert was entitled "Eine Kleine Mozart Musique" and was of course an all Mozart evening, with a Chinese young lady as pianist on a concerto, 21 years old, started piano at 4 and was very talented.
Wonderful small orchestra, excellent and very tight string section, in a small (a bit over 800 seat hall) at the local college that was recently extensively remodeled. Easy parking, easy to get in and out, amazingly good acoustics, polite people (waited if they arrived late to between pieces to take their seats). All in all a wonderful live music experience, and a good reminder of why live music is used by B&O to keep their listening panel's ears calibrated.
I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.

We are so lucky, living only 5 min. from the Mexico city university, and their very good concert hall with excellent acoustics. Nothing goes up against live performed music, performed of good performers. We attend 4-5 concerts a year, classic and jazz.
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.
OMG - just been re-listening to Pro alios curantibus by Howard Goodall on the Lab9's and what a wonderful room filling sound they made. The chorus is so beautifully detailed and the solo violin just gently suspended in the air, somewhere just above the fish-tank actually - go figure. Must be those acoustic lenses in action....
Jamming to Foster the People's "Chin Music For The Unsuspecting Hero"
This is exactly how a keyboard/synthesizer should be recorded. Hello, mainstream music? Are you listening?!
Last night - Cowboy Junkies - Whites Off Earth Now. Great collection of haunting tunes, very well recorded.
Last side of Joe's Garage is playing in the next room as I type. Here's the picture which should have been posted last night.
Rich: if I manage to stay relatively sober.
Rich: Here's the picture which should have been posted last night.
Which means that did't manage to stay relatively.....
Nice music & records!
//Bo.A long list...
Well, well - have to turn on my computer for the picture.
Doesn't seem to work on the iPad.
By the way - it's Willie Nelson.
UPDATE: Here we go - now on my Macini
Greetings Millemissen

Is that a good old Nakamichi cassette-deck rich?
koning: Is that a good old Nakamichi cassette-deck rich?
Yes. BX-300, fully operational, wonderful sound.
Can't wait to compare it to the BC8004 I have at the shop.
Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 5 with Rudolf Serkin and Seiji Ozawa, an utterly forgettable CD on the Telarc label. I have no doubt the performance was wonderful, would have loved to have been in Boston for the performance, but the CD recording is so overly compressed that although listenable, is without a hope of being “believable.” Jeff

For classical music on CD I found Deutche Grammofon normally very high quality.
Its amazing Jeff, in the middle of moving, you still get time to listen to music
Back in the day I always found DG LPs to be of excellent quality as well, good pressings, good performances and mastering. I agree about their CDs as well.
Just stumbled across this via Last.FM ... bought a couple of their songs, but can't find the embedded video clip to purchase - pity, it amused me

Søren Mexico: Its amazing Jeff, in the middle of moving, you still get time to listen to music
Hi Søren,
The Beethoven CD was for dinner preparation, however with the EXTENSIVE packing that I have going, music is very much apart of it. Yesterday the Beomaster 2400/Beocord 8004 got one heck of a workout as I was working on the bedroom.
I bought on Amazon, Kiss CD, Pink CD, Emeli Sandé CD, Elton John vinyl, ABBA vinyl, All waiting for me in McAllen,
Amazon now offers free download to your itunes or play from the cloud player, for nearly all CD or vinyl buys, only 256 Kbs
Cant wait to get the vinyl on the decks.
For cooking I only use Rock and Roll and a lot of Cayenne Pepper
For those of us who love Jazz ... let me know what you think of: Janet Seidel
This album is 35 years old - but I am still enjoying it every time I listen to it.
Millemissen: This album is 35 years old - but I am still enjoying it every time I listen to it. Greetings Millemissen
and if you are like me that is probably once a week - drives my wife nuts
the more I like it - the more she dislikes it

Same here, but mine is a remastered 180 Gram. and yes the FS leave the room when I play that one and another pair of favorites
The Unforgettable Glenn Miller and his Orchestra on the RCA label. This is a really nice 1985 CD, but I really would rather have the LP version. How I really love the forties!

So would I, if whoever borrowed mine 20 years ago would just return it

Have you ever listened to "Glenn Miller is Missing" ?
Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.
Different, kinda like a lounge act.
Piaf: Different, kinda like a lounge act.
You would have to watch the TV Series to fully understand the context of the history of a girl band and their "Rock Follies"
(and note that Julie Covington is one of the women (such a beautiful voice - look for her "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" - I do not understand why she was not more successful, more famous), and Rula Lenska (wife of a mildly famous British TV actor))
I find the words and tone and notes of the song exquisitely sad ...

I see what you mean, the lyrics are indeed important….. as are the voices. Thank you.
If you enjoy exquisitely sad music may I suggest Fado, hauntingly melancholy Portuguese music? Fado means fate in Portuguese and Fado is the melody of delicious resignation.
