BEOVISION CONTOUR

Timeless design and award-winning sound in one television experience - coming soon to Bang & Olufsen Nottingham

i don’t really keep up with B&O these days, but just sounded interesting. I half thought it may have been well known and it is just me yet to catch up on the news?

Sounds nice. Suited perfectly to the Stage then I would imagine.

I’m presuming it has its own built in speaker? Otherwise it would just be a CX

So, not sure if it would be an obvious candidate for a Stage

Maybe it is going to be an integration of a 48" OLED with the Stage on a nice stand? One complete package without WISA or PL but with NL. Let's see. Big Smile

The price I heard is a bit steeper than I expected for an LG CX48" OLED + Stage-ish sound in a nice package.....

To be expected no?

There has to be some premium for wrapping it all up in a nice package I guess.

How nice remains to be seen, and how much of a premium too.

So obviously too early to judge.

Anyway, good for those who want a smaller BV.

In the Uk the CX 48 is 1500, the Stage is 1250. Thats 2750 before stand.

I'd be very surprised if this Contour is any less then 4000.

My guess: 5.000? Or maybe 4.500 just like the Horizon 48.

Plus stand, plus beoremote one, stage + LG are close to 4000 pound already, isn’t it?

Horizon 48” was €5000, guess it will be around that price mark.

Nice to have a new Horizon on the horizon!

Agreed, my comment that it would be no less than 4000 GBP really meant it would be closer to 5000.

Guess everyone should adjust their expectations accordingly.

Cue a mass back and forth debate about the "premium" or "value added".

If there are no power link connections to add other speakers, then that debate may get very heated!

Don’t you think B&O is getting too premium and where is the value at this price point when I can buy a similarly specified TV from Amazon for only €900 including a sound bar. No powerlink is criminal..........blah blah blah.....

I remember the Beovision Horizon 40 with Beoremote one BT cost 2995 € (without stand) : that was for me a very aggressive price!

Of course, the 48 version cost a lot more (4395 €) : too many price differences

Yes, definitely when it comes to televisions

It’s one thing the Harmony/ a~Eclipse being expensive, but at least they’re more than just a tv with a sound bar, given the B&O integration and remote etc.

But a standalone (see the theme here?) BeoVision Contour without the ability to use other speakers seriously blunts any sum of the parts value proposition.

It’s design / form factor better be iconic for a 5k price, and its sound better be stellar.

Some of this may come to pass, so lets wait.

But overall, generation by generation the premium is getting to harder to justify. Neither the Eclipse nor Harmony are iconic designs either, although the latter is clearly better.

I think in the second week of november.

Design like a beovision 10, with a frame like the new iphone12.

I saw a price from 5600 € with a manual wall bracket.

A lot of money, yes - but it is actually less than what a BV10-40 did cost, when that was launched.

The/my biggest question however is, will it be based on a Stage engine or will there be more?

48 is an interesting size for small european lounge.

Yes, my Beovision 10 was more expensive but had full options (AR screen, motor floor stand, ML, PL,...)

But let’s see... After all, a new Beovision is always a good news 😊

...and let's be honest: what was 40" at the time of BV10 launch today is 55". In a sense of a mainstream screen size.

So 48" is fine and all (I have a 49" LG in my second home and it's great) but pricing comparison I guess would need to be done against a different benchmark.

However let's see specs and the design, and let's hope it's a bestseller

Good point.

Prices when new.

BeoPlay V1-40: 2.899 Euro

Beovision Horizon 48: 4.395 Euro

LG OLED48CX listed price: 1.599 Euro, while the street price is already lower than that (ref. Google).

Beovision Countour: 5.600 Euro with wall bracket, so let’s assume about 5.000 Euro with a basic stand.

It seems pretty steep if we consider that the average price of a 48” tv in 2020 is lower than in 2016, on the flip side the specs and the pictures haven’t been disclosed, so we can’t comment about what this BV is offering more compared to a regular LG OLED TV (and compared to the old V1 and Horizon).

I look forward to seeing the new Contour, I am quite curious!
