I quite like the appearance, but I honestly prefer the look of the Horizon. (I really LOVE the way the Horizon looks!)

But I just can't fathom spending $7150 USD (6042 EUR) for it when I can buy the exact same TV for $1500 and the same soundbar for $1750. That means B&O are charging $3900 USD (3300 EUR) for the stand and the frame which holds them together. That's just silly.

Sources: 2x Beosound Moment • 4x Beosound Essence Mk II Speakers: 3x Beolab 8000 • 1x Beolab 6000 • 1x Beolab 3 • 3x Beolab 2 • 4x BeoPlay M5 • 1x BeoPlay A6 Control: 9x Essence Remote • 1x Beoremote Halo

I’m interested in a new Beovision but as you say the value for money for me is not there. This is a recurring theme in recent years aside from the Android failures.

People are happy to pay a bit more for a B&O TV for the form factor, one remote, sound and ability to link to a surround system but this gap is too much. I have a reasonable middle class professional salary, and even I can’t justify a B&O TV. I’d like to know who buys B&O TVs these days apart people on this forum that are fans...

Past: BL1, BL2, BL8000, BS9000, BL5, BC2, BS5, BV5, BV4-50, Beosystem 3, BL3, DVD1, Beoremote 4, Moment.

Here it is on display already.

Needs to be seen in real, but on the picture it looks like a fake, DIY Beovision. Lacks the delicacy of other Beovisions (from 1 to 14, Horizon, Eclipse and skipping the 3).

Same. It's the most beautiful affordable to me (in second hand) Beovision. The only one competing, but out of my reach being the 14 with wooden grill.

I also really like the Horizon, but it is very rare in 48 inch version and also much more expensive than the 40 inch version on the second hand market Sad

Price comparisons to the Horizon should also bear in mind that the Contour is an OLED, whereas the Horizon was a (not very good) LCD. To me that should account for about 1000 GBP/EUR of difference.

That all said, the Contour is so very uninspiring design wise, whereas the Horizon was pretty nice, albeit far from a classic.

I’ll give B&O a B- for effort on the Contour and I think even that’s a bit generous.

I love the Horizon design too but the price tag and also subpar LCD quality makes it a no-go. Thus I did a "DIY" with a 48" OLED LG and a Stage, both mounted to the Horizon vertical Stand.

Though now I'm wondering whether it will be possible to buy the Stage Version of the Contour and use without the frame with an existing 48" LG, could look even better.

The Horizon is a modern classic. At least the stand on the Contour is an improvement over the horrible floor stand the Horizon had.

I disagree. I find the trolley stand beautiful surprising and very B&O. The rotating stand a little less but still better design that this thick ugly contour stand.

Again, looks like "Almost B&O but not even close"

I was talking about the rotating stand as you call it. I’ve got nothing against the trolley.

The BV Contour stand is not bad. It reminds me of the static table stand for the BV-7 one.

Wishful thinking, the stand is Bluetooth connected to the BR1 and motorized🤞🏽😄

As of yet I haven’t seen any teaser or so from B&O. But can’t be far off since the tv is already in some shop windows.

Actually the ‘design’ was born in the Fabrik 5 from the guys working there and then refined.....as far as I have heard.

It is on the B&O website now - also have a look here:

Looks very niche! Only price is a issue now, the premium is to high for a frame and cover for the LG-stage combo.

I wonder if the frame will be sold separately so we can benefit from a discounted LG panel through bulk suppliers

BV Harmony 65 / Eclipse 55 / BL 50 / 19 / 18 / BS 2 all brass

BV Horizon 48 / V1 40 / BL 17 / Beoplay S3 all black

V1 / BL 3 / BS Essence MKII / Beoplay A3 all white

BS Moment / BS 3000 / BS 3200 / BL 400 all silver

Headphones / bluetooth speakers / BLC NL-ML / BLGateway

I know…B&O virus has grown on me !

I’m looking forward to see the price list with a break down of all the elements. I’m not sure the BR One is included in the 5.599 price.

The wall bracket sounds quite elaborate with turn and tilt. Maybe STB will offer a simpler close wall bracket bringing the price down a bit.

It doesn’t look like the remote is included in the unit price

The black frame with wood cover looks very nice to me.

But it is just a standalone tv, which limits its appeal for some

From what I can see on the B&O page, the remote is included in the price.

I'm surprised by its depth : as it's a Stage with a LG GX over it, I can't understand what's this big black box in the back : empty space just to hide cables?

Also the cut at the top of the wood panel is strange : There is no use of the infrared sensor of the LG panel as the Beoremote is Bluetooth! is it a light sensor?

Wow. Just wow.

This is definitely “B&O Surprise of the Year” for me. In gold tone along with the wood speaker cover this is easily the best looking TV B&O has in their catalogue right now in my opinion; and the size is absolutely perfect for me too. Very impressed! I’d pick one up if I wasn’t in the middle of planning to migrate, so this will have to wait! Definitely very happy with what I’m seeing though!

Also, does this mean the Stage is getting a wood fret?

More seriously though, can I take the 'spare' Stage I have here and use it with this frame and an a panel?

That's the downside of a framed panel. However, I'd never put this on my wall. I'd have it on the stand, I think.

Indeed - they seem to be giving little thought to the wall mounters amongst us!

Perhaps we’re / I’m in a minority, but given how elegant products like the GX and wallpaper series look, it’s a bit unfortunate that such solutions/ looks are not really catered for by B&O

Pity it is a tv that makes it absolutely impossible to extend the investment with speakers or controlling external devices. The stage is really too limited.

Beolab 50, Beolab 8000 x 2, Beolab 4000 x 2,
BeoSound Core, BeoSound 9000, BeoSound Century,
BeoLit 15, BeoPlay A1, BeoPlay P2, BeoPlay H9 3rd Gen, BeoPlay H6, EarSet 3i,
BeoVision Eclipse Gen 2 55", BeoPlay V1-40,
BeoCom 6000 and so much else :)

Correct!

I just bought a 55" GX and an Almando multiplay surround decoder (to run my lab3s and s14) and spent under 3000 and get a stunning modern (3cm thick on the wall) panel that looks beautiful and works with my existing B&O Speakers!
